How's Everyone Doing With Their Activity/Exercise This Summer?
It's hard to keep the pace going when it is so darn hot outside - isn't it? It's so easy to talk yourself out of it so I just do it without thinking too much about it. I don't know about you guys, but I it wouldn't take much for me to settle down in my recliner instead. I just pray that I can keep this going. I've been here and done that in the past.
I am still walking 3 miles a day with the pupster. ( sometimes more. )
She bows her head down so I pour about a gallon of nice refreshing water over her head and body and loves it. She's so cute. Then when we hit 1 mile, I share some of my bottled water in a bathroom sized cup that I have folded in my pocket. We make a good team.
On weekends, hubby and I walk 4.5 miles on the boardwalk or have been hiking at a nearby park. We hate/enjoy it if you get my drift. It feels great when it's over!
I really wished that I had been lifting weights all this time since surgery. My intentions are always good. Oh well. Somehow, someway I will try to work that into my life.
Any how, I'm just checking in to say, "HI", and seeing how other folks are trying to stay active this summer.
I developed a new hobby here...road bike riding!! My SIL talked me into getting a bike and I'm so happy I did!! I did my 1st long ride on 6/1, it was a Bike, Boat, Bike tour of Shelter Island and I rode 25 miles! 2 weeks later I rode 40 miles with the Tour De Force. Now I'm getting out every weekend and averaging about 30 miles and it feels GREAT. I've been slacking on the gym because I'm taking a summer course now and happy it's almost over!! I'm tired of working FT days then going to school 4 nights a week from 6- 9:20pm. Anyway have a great rest of the summer!!!
