DOES ANYONE KNOW IF BLUE CHOICE WILL PAY FOR FULL BODY LIFT UNER ANY...
Hi there,
I am new here - six months out from surgery and just found this place - what a site it is!!!! I live in the Rochester, NY area and am looking into plastic surgeons - I know I'm not eligible until after first aniversary - but I'm doing my homework early - I have already lost 102 pounds and 49.25 inches and thats just in the first six months. I work out every day after work and i want to lose another 80 pounds - although maybe I will be satisfied with 60 pounds - I'm almost tripping over my belly and boobs and my arms are swinging pretty freely, too. I would love to have a full body lift if the insurance will cover it - I know Blue Choice will cover the tummy and boobs - but I want the whole thing - does anyone know if there are ANY cir****tances where insurance will cover the full body lift? Thanks for any input you can give me.
Thanks star

Great job on the weight loss!!!!! As for BC covering a full body lift only if you can prove medical necessity. The arms are VERY hard to get covered by insurance. Usually you can get a tummy tuck and boos covered but again you have to show medical necessity. I am not ready to go that route yet, but who knows. Kinda waiting to see how much I lose and if any of the skin goes back. It has not been too bad but it is a little Shar-Pei puppy looking!
Good luck with your research. Have you looked into any of the surgeons yet?

my GF had a full body lift done 2 years ago, good luck. She went to Dr. O'Mally in Syracuse but he's not doing it anymore which sucks because Him and his staff are really good. The biggest problem isn't really Insurence, the problem is what the're willing to pay out. Dr. O'Mally love doing body lifts for people that just lost alot of weight but the insur. was only paying him 1/4 of what he charges, so he was losing so much money he had to stop taking Insur cases. He have to find a Doc willing to bite a bullet to help someone out. The ladies in my GF support are talking to some new guy that's willing to take Bypass people on, but i don't know what his name it. When i get it i'll post it. just Network with others and KEEP HOPE ALIVE :angle:
WOW - thanks for all the info - I didnt realize that it wasn't so much the insurance approval but the doctor's fee. I live in the Rochester, NY area and i have been checking some ps out on the web. Dr Paninni did my firends tt and breast reduction - and she paid for her arms. I think that he did the arms and breast for what the insurance paid - I will find out - it would be so neat if could get approval for full body lift and get doctor to accept what insurance pays - will keep up my search for all the right answers for me. thanks - Star
Blue Shield of NENY just paid forn my second PS I had and my Dr in Albany only charged what they paid him. The insurance was easy the first time around but the second time it took me 7 months to get them to approve me, just keep after them and they will give in is what I was told so I did and WON.
