Cost - anyone know - I will be paying cash

Does anyone know the cost of a RNY Laproscopic procedure? That's what I'm hoping to have and I was just wondering at the cost as I'll be paying cash.

BC tells me with Hospital stay and stuff about $35,000+

the cost will vary depending on the doctor and hospital you use, and what procedure are you looking to have, a rny or lap- band ? the doctor i ended up uses will cut the rate for people who self pay. donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/142/140

Heather, I can only tell you what my Dr billed the Ins Comp, it was around $40,000.00. All Drs cost a different so check around. I wish you all teh best. ~hugs~ Debra P

Hi Heather, I was self pay too. I had RNY. My surgeon gave me an all inclusive rate of $25,000. This included all pre-op testing, all hospital and surgical related fees and all of my follow-up so far. Hope this helps. Robin

My hospital bill was $49,000 but that didn't include the bill for the anesthesia bill which was $3,700 and my surgeons bill which was $ 9,800. Also that doesn't include any of the testing I did before which for me was all $25 co-pays. I was in the hospital for 6 days due to an infection in one of the incisions. Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK! Hi Heather, I had rny. The hospital was just over $29K, the doctor billed insurance around $44K and the assistant surgeon billed insurance around $22K. Insurance paid the hospital in full but I'm still waiting to see what I will have to pay for. It seems that even doctors charge patients differently...go figure! Hope your costs are not as great.
