HI!!!
Welcome Steven!
We love to hear from new people. May I suggest that you read the profiles to see what everyone experienced on their individual journey. Sometimes we run into road blocks but mostly we ARE happy that we made the decision to have surgery, whatever the method, and have no regrets. Research everything: types of surgery, surgeons, hospitals, etc.
Good luck in your research and post often whenever you have any questions or concerns. There always seems to be someone who has had experience in one way, shape or form.

Hi Steve! I am happy to hear that you are starting to look into surgery. The younger one is the better. I wish I had started years ago, but I guess now is as good a time as any. I live in Fort Plain and I was wondering if you know the Filiberto's from Hagaman. Lisa is my son's speech therapist. I always love finding people that live nearby. This site is the best! Use it. It will always encourage you. New Yorkers are the most compassionate and supportive people going. They'll help you with any questions or support you'll need. Again, welcome!!

Hi Steven! Good luck to you on your journey! I am also pre-op and have found this board to be not only a great source of information, but also a great source of strength and support! This is such a rollarcoaster ride of emotions and there is always a kind word to be had here! Good luck, again, and keep us posted on your progress!

Hi Steven Chadwick,
Dont you fret these nice folks on this support page will be able to answer ALL your questions and I mean ALL your questions, even stuff you didnt even think of.
I also sort support within this genre...and I had even changed doctors due to these nice peoples support and encouragement. Now I have an excellant doctor not just a general MD.
My surgery is April 25th and I am having the lap band.
May God guide you on this journey....and man what a trip it is....
