colonoscopy anyone????????????
Stephanie,
Relax ! I know easier said than done , Hugh?
I have had two of them and the first thing I want to say is that the prep is the worst of it all !
The prep is something that you can actually remember about it and the procedure is something you won't b/c you are asleep !
Just stick real close to your toilet and not to be graphic or anything but coat your hyney with some protrolem jelly for protection from the stomach acids that come out with your stool .
You will thank yourself later for doing so !
As far as the procedure , it is over and done with before you know it !
Remember that everyone has different experiences with these things so if someone says they had a difficult time then it does not mean you will .
I had two of them and I can say that the first was fine the second was a little different than the first but the DR.'s were also different in the way that they do it !
You will be fine !
Try and relax !
and
,
Carolee

Just make sure you stay hydrated during the prep. Good luck!
I had both a colonoscopy AND an endoscopy last Thursday. The prep WAS awful -- I sat in the bathroom praying that I would keep the phospho-soda stuff down so it would work.
The test itself -- other than the IV, they put you under sedation although not general anesthesia. I felt and knew absolutely nothing, and nothing bothered me afterwards at all.
BTW -- ended up with an ulcer -- colonoscopy was fine.
