good protein drink

I'm looking at Wal-Mart and they have a couple different protein drinks, they cost alot fo money and i don't want to get a crappy one. Tell me some that taste good. I only have 5 more days (4 to shop) so i need to start getting my stuff for after sugery.

tough question because we all find that we like different things. If you bought something at GNC and hated it, they would take it back... not sure about walmart. At the beginning, I tried the sample pack and didn't like any of them. I ended up using carnation instant breakfast (one in the blue box) with fat free carb countdown milk for a long time. Whatever you buy make sure you look at the label in order not to buy something that has too much sugar in it. As far as tasting good - lots of luck, I found some that I can tolerate. I mostly use IsoPure Zero Carb and mix mine with water. At the beginning I could use Protein delite, but now it is too sweet for me. Some people rave about the Nectar ones and I couldn't stand them. It truly is up to the individual taste. I hope you find one and good luck with your surgery!

Hi Dwight, first of all congrats on your upcoming surgery!!! Very exciting. I know that the taste in protein powders and drinks varies greatly. I tried a number of ones before i found one that i liked. I use the Jay Robb brand. I get it at whole foods stores and you can order it online as well. Unfortunatly its a hit or miss. Hi Dwight! That's wonderful that you're getting prepared for a new life! There is a site called www.bariatriceating.com where you can get some decent foodstuffs you'll need. I've heard pretty good things about them. There is also an area here where you can get lots of advice from those who have had WLS and are in the same boat that you're in, needing lots of protein drinks. After you click on "Message Board" go to "Types of Surgery" (I think that's what it is) and click on VSG. You may not be having a VSG, but all those who have had WLS need protein drinks, so post your question. I guarantee you'll get good advise there! Take care! Lisa

Also remember after surgery your taste will change too. What tastes good now may not even sound good let alone be able to drink it. I stocked up before my surgery and ended up giving it all away because of this issue. I did some samples after surgery then purchased what tasted good at that time. Best of luck to you. Hey, I find the protein drinks are pretty gross and most just make me gag. Then again I have been doing them for almost a year and half and have them coming out of my ears at this point. I do like the stallone protein puddings though, they are yummy. Try these if you cant do the shakes! Good luck! Tavia

you should get whey protine, it has no taste I get mine on line, you can add it to anything your coffee your cereal , it has 7o calories and 17 grams of protine

I buy the Body Fortress whey protein powder from Walmart. I like both the chocolate and vanilla. I often mix the vanilla with some strawberries and whip it up in my Magic Bullet blender. It's definitely more economically priced than many that I've seen. I ordered samples of Unjury from their website and while their chocolate was very good I would have to say that I liked Body Fortress's vanilla better. The one good thing about Unjury is they have an unflavored one so I had that one day in Crystal Light. You can order samples from them at www.unjury.com. Hope this helps. Susie
