I need your advice.
Hello,
My name is Loretta and I am at my wits end. I had the bypass 2/25/05 and my starting weight was 343lbs. I have lost 107lbs. I know this is a wonderful thing ......... but.......... I have not lost anything in the last six months!!!! I have tried everything I can think of. I work out three times a week weight lifting and I have also added 20 min of cardio three times per week. I drink a ton of water every day. I get my protein daily. If I keep my diet to the bare min or if I eat all sugar it is always the same weight on the scale. I don't know what else to do. Please, Please, Please if you have any suggestions I would be eternally greateful. This is more than just a Plateau. I didn't make this drastic change in my life to remain 236lbs. my goal is 160lbs. Please help me reach it.

Loretta,
Since you feel this is not a plateau then I would say maybe going to speak to a Nutrionist and your surgeon to see what is going on for you.
I am only 10 months out so maybe someone that is farther along can help you more....Just know you are in my thoughts and prayer to get yourself back on track to lose more weight. ~hugs~

I feel exercise is key, and well closer to 60 min (mostly cardio) most days of the week is what it may take. *It is true for me..I do 10 hrs week in gym 6 hr cardio* BUT also realistically WLS is meant to give 50% exess wt loss, NOT ideal body wt, please remember that.....You are a success, can lose more? maybe. Things to look at www.fitday.com log food for 2 or 3 dys see what u r really eating and where things can cange. R U grazing? R U drinking calories? Eating/drinking together? there are ways to defeat this tool..... The honeymoon for me was 7 months, some get longer some less...the body adapts, wt loss slow as we can tolerate greater quantity/variety of foods. U dont say ht, age, comorbidities, meds u r on, do u do protein suppliments.... things if we knew we could guide u more...but my group again is about 2000 people in your boat/similar so please come on over for support! It helped me at 1 yr out when I started GAINING!!!!
hUGS
