I'm making my list of items I need to buy for when I get home, I have protien powders(anyone have any favorites) sf jello, sf pudding, sf yougart, chicken brooth (net beef hate the beef) chewable vitamens, and crystal light. Can you all share if I have everything (side bar I don't do cream soups)? Thanks guys, 12 days and counting!
Eileen:
If you like herbal teas/decaf teas, splenda or equal or other Sf sweetner,
SF popsicles! A MUST! Regular or tropical flavors available...you can cook/strain regular chicken noodle soup!!! Flavored waters if you like those, I like water/ice/1 splenda packet/slice lemon personally!
I love my PVL Whey gourmet (they have 15 flavors!) I get the 2# TUBS cheap at http://www.a1nutritionproducts.com/wheygourmet.asp $21.99 each.
www.bethsproteinboutique.com (she is a wlser in NY and is the ONLY Site I have found that carries samples of MY FAVORITE protein PVL Whey Gourmet..I love white choc, vanilla, raspberry, orange cremesicle, blueberry, choc peanutbutter, milk chocolate, and CARAMEL DIP! umm..among the others!)
Note crystal lite may be too strong so if so postop water it down more!!!
A nice journal to record fluids/thoughts etc.....Lip balm for the hospital!
Take preop pictures, measurements so u can track monthly!
Do those chewable vits include calcium citrate? Sublingual B12? I use walmarts (Springvalley) B12/complex sublingul liquid cherry flavor $6 BOTTLE Is 2 MO WORTH, Citrcal now has a chewable ca citrate!

Eileen,
I would say the ONE thing that was cool to have with me at the hospital was my own pillow from home, don't even change the pillowcase until you get home so this way it smells like home
It was the one thing that gave me comfort.
Foods for liquid:
Watch the sugar free puddings, they seem to have high sugar alcohols and that is what makes us sick as well as the sugar. Also yogurts are high in sugar but you can get the Dannon carb control yogurts (forget the name exactly)
I love my Isopure choc protein powder.....
Carb Control Milk and Choc milk by Hood....
Also I would add to your food list (pureed diet stuff):
F/F Refried Beans
Cottage cheese
ok that is my 2 cents..
I wish you all the best hun ~hugs~

Ricotta cheese !!
Fruit 2o...
Profect protein drink
Oh also, I have been using a site www.fitday.com that helps me to track my daily intake. It helps out alot showing you exactly what you will need to consume for a day. Immediately post-op it really isn't worth it cuz we all know you can only get in what you body will allow since your pouch is so delicate but as time goes by I think you will find it a huge help !
The best of luck... Keep us posted !
