Post-Op Support meetings?

I'm in south Brooklyn, right over the Verazzano ... had the surgery at North Shore ... which is only a 30 minute drive with no traffic, but I think the support meetings are evenings there and I'd have to travel east in rush hour 
I KNOW there must be something going on more local, I'd be willing to take public transportation to the city, if I have to - anyone know or know where I can start looking to find out? My pre-op friend mentioned a meeting Thursday @ 5:30 at NY Methodist ... but she said it's mainly pre-ops and that she's gone twice and had to sit thru the explanation of the operation, etc. I'd rather not LOL.
