I need help! PLEASE!!

I am having a problem with getting my pysh. clearance. I need to find a phsh. who can see me and have the clearance before June, or they will cancel my appointment with the surgeon. Can anyone reccommend someone in the Dutchess county area? I am willing to travel if I can have it done in 1 or 2 appointments. Thank you for your help.

I don't really know where Dutchess County is, but I am in Staten Island. My Surgeon has a Psych. on Staff. I guess you could call to see if they take patients who don't use him as a surgeon. The surgeon is Dr. Ferzli, and the number is 718-667-8100. I only had one visit with the Psych before my surgery. Good luck. SH

I live in Dutchess County, but I am having my surgery done in White Plains. Are you talking about your psycho-social evaluation? You might try calling Laurie Sperling Nevins, at (917) 861-1459. She did mine for $175.oo

You could try calling Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and see if they could refer you to someone who can do psych. eval. It should only take one visit. That's all I had to do, but I used a doctor on Long Island, which would be way too far for you to travel. Have you asked your surgeon to recommend someone? He must have someone that he uses on a regular basis. Who is your surgeon? I don't see a profile for you, so I couldn't check it out. Joanne

Hi Karen, I'm not sure if you mean having to get a psych eval or if your regular psych doc wont send recommendation. I went to a surgeon that required my psych. to send a recommendation before they would even think about surgery for me. But my psych doc at the time refused to be involved in any way. I had to find another psych doc and this new one agreed to send a recommendation so I can have the surgery. I'm sorry you having problems. Keep hangin in there. debby
