I'm Home!
I now a loser! I got home yesterday morning at 11Am, surgery was Tuesday. Needed to have some blood added to the body to due having a heridatery form of anemia and being appearantly a "bleeder" but they got my levels moving in the right direction and all is good. I am feeling great, a little sore, kinda like I did too many sit-ups, have had no problems with getting sick, hard to get the fluid in though. I am working on it. I do have a question, I just read Dwights post about being tired all the time, I am having almost a complete opposite reaction, since Tuesday night the day of the surgery I have not been able to sleep more then 20 minutes at a time, I thought well I'm not home in my own bed, then I thought it was the pain meds, but last night I headed up to bed at 9:30 slept for three hours then the 15 minutes of sleeping bouts came into play. Has this happened to anyone else? Glad to be home ya'll and thanks for the support
Hi Eileen,
Yes the same thing happened to me. I could sleep maybe 40 minutes at a time. I think it was all the medications that I took in the hospital, plus the trauma my body went through as well. I would have horrible like Freddie Kruegar dreams for about a week after surgery. However, I too like Dwight am very very tired. Its been about 2 and half week post of (banded). I make sure I have my protein drinks to help healing and sipping away at the water.
Please let me know how your doing ...Loser....hugs Susan

Welcome Home Eileen ! Sure does feel good , doesn't it ?
I sept alot in the hospital and was sleppy for a few day's after that too but now I am sleeping only at night and sometime's take a 20 min. nap in the afternoon . I have not experienced the not sleeping deal but I am sure that now that you are home you will be more apt to sleep for longer period's of time . I am with Dwight though as I am not yet 2 weeks post op until the 7 th and I tire really , really quickly and my energy could be alot better . I swear I had more energy when i first came home !
I know that this is normal and I am sure what you are experiencing is too . So just give it a little more time and you will be
like a baby !
Again , welcome home !
and
Carolee

Eileen:
Some people are VERY fatigued and others are VERY energized.
I was a very energized person. For me it stabilized and I slept after a while, a recliner helped, for some pain meds can alter sleep architecture, and keep you up! Be well and welcome to the other side!
