How did everything go with IHA?  I am asking because I also have them and I am waiting for them to make a decision.  I am so nervous they'll turn me down because I'm a new member and I have Medisource (the Medicaid plan).  Goodness, the suspense is killing me... I got a voicemail today from a lady at IHA saying they were calling in regards to a request made by one of my doctors.  Does IHA typically call a member to let them know the decision, or do they just mail it in a letter? Any info is much appreciated!!

he answered all my questions without hesitation and i agree, it seemed like he knew i was going to ask everything i did.
i even asked him what happens to the other part of the stomach after its seperated.  i was pretty happy with his answer, he told me that chop it up and use it for fishing bait:)
and on the recovery time, i was happy to hear he returns to work the next day lol:)

I know what you mean.  I saw the doctor on Thursday of last week and got the call today that I was approved.  I am scheduled for October 20th.  Good luck to you and keep positive.

i didnt think i would get approved that quick.  2 days for the most part not counting the weekends.  i was shocked....so excited but nervous. 
to be honest even though my wife was more comfortable with everything after meeting the Dr, i still think she is leaning away from me having the surgery.  but i really think its whats best.  i just want her comfortable with .

cant wait to here from surgeon to set a date, i am sure i can get it mid nov, but trying for early december so i can be home with family for holidays and not have to worry about getting time off work. 

i have always worried about everyone else first and put myself 2nd no matter what.  so i think this is a huge step for me, i will be taking care of myself 1st.  it sucks with the recovery that i wont be able to live my daugther for a few weeks, but i would rather sacrifice those few weeks, then be dead in a few years.

so nervous could keep rambling.  i just hope i dont mess up and gain all the weight back

It is a lovely crisp sunny fall day here in the Southern Tier.  Just a quick note to let you know that the Binghamton Area WLS Support Group will be meeting this Wednesday, September 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the Vestal Public Library.
