Dr. Zografakis is a 4 month wait?? :(

Hey all- I went to the seminar Saturday for Akron City Hospital (Dr. Zografakis)... I really enjoyed myself, learned alot and chatted with everyone that would listen or had anything to say. I am however dissapointed, because I called for an appointment to see him first thing this morning, and can't get in till MAY 11!!! I am SOOOOO dissapointed!!! Any tips for a broken spirit???

Hi there! If this is the physician you really want then here is what I would do as time passes. Find out what your insurance requires and what the dr requires. If you need a WLS psych eval....get it done Write up your entire diet history...most all want that If you need a letter from your family dr or PCP , make an appt and get that taken care of call the dr office back and ask to be put on the list for cancellations Good Luck!

May I add to the list? Check with your primary care to see if you need a sleep study done. It will save you some time while you wait to see the surgeon. My surgeon also required a physical, as well as the insurance company. Check with the surgeon's office to see what else you will need for approval and can get done before you see him. Best of luck!

I actually wouldn't recommend doing any of that stuff until you find out what their specific program requirements are. If they want you to see a certain psych professional, if you pick someone on your own you will just have to do it all over again. I would suggest using the 4 month wait to start making changes in your diet and lifestyle that will make you more succesful after surgery - eliminate liquids from your diet that aren't zero calorie, for instance, and start exercising. Deb , i would definatly call your insurance and see if they require a supervized diet and exercise and if so get going on that with your PCP right away ive been going thru this since last june i got everything ready and submitted for approval and THEN they told me they wanted 3 mo supervized diet and exercise .. so i did that .. now waiting for approval again ... also DR Z is worth the wait he is a great DR Best of luck Missy

Deb See if you can get in with Dr.Brian T Jones at dr. z's. Office He is acttually who I have. He is just as friendly as Dr Z. Very knowledgable about the surgery. I called and had an appointment 2 weeks later. You can also see Dr. fallon or fallong i dont know how to spell it. I have no experience with him. Erica
