Okay here is the deal. I have increased all my excercise now to an hour a day. 20 minutes treadmill 30 minutes ellipical 5 x a week. ( Ab Lounge ) other minor excercise. I am wondering. Is my fat turning to muscle. Am I going to lose anymore weight and turn into a musclar man. I noticed I am seeing alot of muscle. My upper part of my stomach is flat. ( I even had open surgery) I see 2 LITTLE abs and my ribs. My legs are musclar. I dont want to look like China, The lady wrestler. I do want to look like a woman. I still have a lower pouch and am working on that. My arms are doing wonderful. But since I have increased my excercise weight loss has slowed. Can someone give me opinions on this. Am I turning my fat all into one heavy muscle. Thanks Barb

Fat can be replaced by muscle, but not changed to muscle. I was told that women will not develop big muscles like men (without drugs anyway). Enjoy your new strong body. Story: When I was young I worked out at a regular men's gym. There was one other girl that was there. She ended up marrying one of the bodybuilders. I hadn't seen her for a couple years after she got married when I ran into her at another gym. The first thing that I noticed was that she was solid muscle. I greeted her and was knocked off my feet by her deep masuline voice "Hi Cathy..How's it going". Obviously some steroids at work Scarey

muscle also weights more then fat so while you're replacing fat with muscle your weight loss will show as slowing. Take measurments that will help you see the difference in yourself. I started weight lifting about 4 weeks ago and am seeing definition in my body. The first time I saw in in my wrist I thought I broke something! geesh, am I dumb. Now I know words like core, cardio & cut. They're not the bad words I thought they were. Denise 398/379/298

You'll need to do strength training to see more muscle. Right now, you're burning fat, but not necessarily building muscle. Nautilus and free weights should help with building muscle. (I'm a wealth of information that I've never been able to put to use. Grr.)

Barb, if you want to focus on one specific area of your body and not continue to build muscle in others, you need to target that area. Here's a good link: http://www.prevention.com/category/0,5775,s1-2-87-0-0-0,00.html
