Not fraud when it was determined that due to high BMI and Varicees through-out my esophagus, stomach and intestines, that doing straight RNY was a 50% chance of death!
Needed the BMI to get lower to make RNY (or DS) a viable alternative.
It was because of my dilligence of working my sleeve, and doing everything (and more) that the surgeon said, that brought me to where I am.
Did I want RNY? YES! Am I happy that I have lost (and maintained) the weight I have - Abso-Freaking-loutely!
Since I've maintained, I made the determination myself not to become mal-absorbtive, until it becomes necessary (if at all).
Sorry I didn't put my ENTIRE life out there to explain how this came about. BUT, it's NOT fraud.
You're appology will now be accepted!

Thanks for the reply. That was the worst day for me. You see, it was my birthday and i was so motivated to get this done, i was really crushed. Haven't heard from the office since that day. I keep praying that something changes soon.

Update:
I entered the Fresh Start Bariatrics program at Riverside with Dr. Stephen myers, and jumped through all their hoops for three months.
I did my best to work with their team, but was very dissapointed with Dr. Myers and decided to switch surgeons. I am now with Dr. David Schumacher in Kettering and SO GLAD I made the change.

hello ! most of you who currently are on the ohio board probly do not remember me-
but i have a quick story to tell--
i lived in ohio for many many years and waived between ohio and michigan for my surgery -which i finally had in ohio at barix in 2004--
anyhow- i moved to michigan -my home state-last november ( 2009) to live near my mother--my life has gone thru many many changes- some good some not so good- i am in process of a divorce by my choice-etc!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am working now in a bank 700 miles from "(ohio) home" and today came face to face with someone that i had angelled for before i even had my own surgery!!! her name is debbie and she had her surgery- i think if i remember correctly- in 2003 at barix in ypsilanti mich--she is now also living up here within a few milesof me=- she looks great and remembers me!!! i had driven up to ypsi to see her and walk the hall but never saw her again--til today!!!!

The Ohio group isn't very active so you will get more response from the VSG and Main boards.

Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery on 1/18/11, but I will be having it in Dayton. I was living there and started this process with a dr. there and have been approved. I now live in the Columbus area and really want to participate in a support group in this area. It is unrealistic that I can go to Dayton for regular meetings. The only groups I have found are sponsored by drs. and say patients only. Does anyone know of any existing open groups? I would like to start attending one pre-op. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hello all. I am in need of some information...if anyone has it? I have been waiting for Ohio State University Bariatric Program to submit my paperwork to insurance!! I have been working on getting surgery for almost one year. We are finally up to the "submitting" it stage. At the beginning of October I got a call saying that the surgeon's had reviewed my file and approved it and that it should be submitted to insurance in "a week or so." Five weeks later and three calls placed to my insurance company, and one email to OSU and no answers.
I am just ready to have it done with. Also, I am planning on having the VSG with Dr. Needleman. I understand he hasn't done many of this type of surgery. Does anyone have any insight or history with this program/surgeon?
p.s. i posted this on the general vsg site but thought I might get more insight on the Ohio site...
