Come on Artist, where are you all ?
I have been looking at this site for months hoping that someone new would write in with some other creative things. I know there are alot of other artists out there ,please add your ideas and let's make this board work .
What are some of the things you like to paint ,do you find your creativity
more productive as a post-op ? Do you still find yourself working in a different style now than before ? Do you have more energy to paint now as a post-op ?
I paint the female form now and since losing weight I can see it as being more beautiful because I too have that body. My paintings have taken on a new look and I have more creativity now than I ever did. New ideas just pop up in my mind now and everything is a free for all when I think of my next painting. As a matter of fact right now I'm working on 4 paintings at once and I never would've been able to do this before for lack of energy and physical tiredness as an obese woman.
We need to get this board up and running so we can share idea's as well as talking about what being a pre-op or post-op does for our creativity.
I"m here, I'm here!!! I just found this message board. I've just been limiting myself to my Profile updates from surgery. I'm nearly 7 months post-op, so my energy level is way up from where it was. I love oil painting and have been painting since I was in Jr. High School. I'm afraid that I lost my desire to paint in the last few years because of being too heavy, too tired and lifeless. Since losing 82 pounds now I'm back interested in painting again and have been searching for new landscapes to paint, which are my speciality. I've been taking a lot of pictures on my digital camera that I plan to use as inspiration for my paintings, that and cutting out photos from magazines to paint. Like I said, I haven't painted since 1998, so it's about time I started again. Just bought several new canvases and am ready to go.
I love painting, like I said. I get so absorbed in it til the painting is finished, which with oils, it usually takes me about 2 weeks to complete one in 16x20 size. I've even sold a few. What I'd really like to do is find a forum to sell my paintings. I have several stored and have entered a couple of art shows. I just wish we had an art gallery here in my town to show my paintings, short of me opening one up, which I can't afford to do. Any ideas?
I'm an illustrator and graphic designer. I teach too. I paint in nearly every medium and appreciate all kinds of art too. I was producing more pre-op, but I'm a recent post op. I've done mostly digital work lately and need to get back to my oils and acrylics. As far as ideas go my head is like popcorn machine, but that could be my attention deficit just talking lol.
