I know I used to dread wearing jeans they just weren't comfortable.  Now im in a size 20 jean and they feel great.  I have the opposite problem though if the jeans span my ass then they gap at the back of the waist and I have to put a belt on.
congrats on the size 16 I can't even imagine how good that would feel.

Joanne, I really think it depends on the make of the jeans.  Some fit me perfectly, some gap in the back, some sag in the butt, etc.  There are a few brands that fit really well, so I tend to stick with them.

LOL I thought it was just my belly is dropping rapidly and my ass is hanging on for dear life.

haaaa!  Well, it could be that too.  But there are jeans to hide that!

And that's why an ass is called an ass!!  If it wasn't an ass it wouldn't hang on!

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Marks Work Wearhouse has a wonderful line of jeans that fit up to size twenty...that hold everything in place.

enjoy your jeans...one of the first places I lost was my flanks..when I suddenly realized I no longer had saddlebags I kept feeling my sides because I couldn't believe it.

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!.  Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

What I like about Mark's is they have different cuts for pants - it's just finding the right one that suits your body type.

Edited to add: I find Tommy Hilfiger, Aeropostal and Levi's fit me best. Calvin Klein aren't too bad either actually.
