I'm not dead!!!
That's awesome Jennifer. I cannot say enough good things about the Running Room programs. It is so nice to have a community of people to run with, and to pass the time with. It is really motivational. I started my "Learn to Run" this past August, and this May I am going to run my first half marathon. I never thought I could do it, but clinic-by-clinic, I built not only an addiction to running, but much more confidence in my abilities. Have fun, and you should absolutely, without a doubt, be proud of yourself. Horray, you!!!
That's so awesome Jen; you should be proud!!!! I can totally relate to the euphoria of getting it done. I still don't like running and have to force myself to get my runs in between Sundays but I'm on a high everytime I accomplish one.
The Running Room seems hard-core compared to the Learn to Run program I'm doing... 1 min running, 2 mins walking!?! How many reps? I'm on my sixth week and we started with 9 minutes walking, 1 minute running (this week we're on 4 mins run, 2 mins walk).
They told us in the first week to repeat the Sunday runs a maximum of three times a week to give our bone density and muscles a chance to catch up. Take it easy on yourself so your body doesn't rebel. They did recommend that if we absolutely had to work out more than four times a week, that we do some strength training on the alternate days.
Good luck and maybe we'll see you on Race Day!!!
