Exercise and Calories

But i'm not feeling bad. I'm confused here. I'm just wondering if getting more calories will help get the few extra pounds off. I eat a protein and carb before my class.

What I wonder is if I need more in total, to help get the few extra pounds off, because I don't include the calories I burned in my daily total.

SF applesauce, meh. Not a big fan. And I would still need a protein to go with it. I can't just have a carb on it's own.

There is no such thing as SF apple sauce.  You might mean unsweetened or NSA but apple sauce always has natural sugar in it and even that is too much for some people.

And it's too much for me!! Just like I can't have just fruit anymore. I miss just grabbing an apple! My sugar boost would be followed by a huge low....during spinning....did it once....not fun, especially when clipped in to the pedals!! lol

applesauce still has sugar in it, the natural sugars of the apples. You're better off having a light protein and a small carb before and after exercise

Yep, and I do.

I have protein and carb with every meal. It's a must. Just protein (like just meat) makes me go low, just carb (any carb it seems) without protein makes me go low. Good times. A total learning process, and just when I think i've mastered it, something messes me up.

My recommendation would be to go find a good personal trainer and they will put together a plan for you to reach your goal. You may need to shock your body to get over this hump. And personal trainers can give you options on how to do this. Im far from experienced enough to offer advice on how to do it. Good luck though.

I would if I could afford it. Sadly, I can't at the moment. Perhaps in the new year when I do my taxes. I did join a boutique gym on a trial membership, and I go on Monday for an assessment and a power plate session (which will be weird). So perhaps they'll have something to tell me. I just don't know how, or if, we are different because of the surgery.

If you ask any dietitian or nutritionist, they will say "eat more!!"
I, personally, am not a fan of this logic at all!! When I started hitting the more-than-5kms-a-day running, the dietitian told me I should be at 2000 calories a day, and 55% of that should be carbs!!
I tried it for a week and gained about 6 lbs.
Ya....how about NoOooooOOOOOO!!!

I think if you are still trying to lose, then "eat less, move more" is the best philosophy.  Once you get to where you want to be, you can start adding calories until you find your happy place.

I am not a dietitian or nutritionist though, and I also have no scientific proof of anything that comes out of my mouth...just my opinion.

OMG!! I can't imagine that!! LOL. I'm trying to lose, because I want to, not because I have to. So perhaps my body is just plain and simple refusing because it's happy where it is? Who knows? I've had many people say to be patient. I've sat here since April, so my patience is gone LOL.

Was that the NUT at a WLS Centre?? My NUT told me I would never eat more than 1,000 a day...for the rest of my life. Which I don't agree with either. It's odd the advice we get sometimes.

If you really want to drive yourself crazy go to the MyFitnessPal boards and see the never ending debate about "eating back your exercise calories."

I read alot of what people posted and seems the consensus is if you are overweight don't do it ,otherwise you should eat more calories.

You already got a lot of good advice but if I were you I'd play around every week with different calorie amounts to see what works.
