Question to people that started around 255lbs, loose skin
Three factors are important, it seems:
1) your age at surgery and completed weightloss
2) previous irreparable damage to the skin (aka stretch marks)
3) genetics
My friends lost the same amount I did, but started higher (I was at 264 just before my RNY) and found their loose skin intolerable (I agree) and had the surgery. NONE regret it.
They were also younger than I. I will be 60 next year, and although I have lost 126 lbs, my loose skin is not that visible.
The worst is in a bathing-suit. Otherwise, a good push-up bra and good support garments are doing the trick - I look trim in clothes.
I must say, though, the funniest part of it is wearing the "chicken cutlets" in my bra. I was a double-D, so I never had a problem with filling the cup before. I find this 2-pancakes-with-warts business absolutely hilarious!![]()
Boobs and butt first to go. Lost 130 lbs. Have a nice pair of bat wings. Hoping to get panni done. I exercise 3-4 times per week. While I have bullt muscle in arm it hasn't really helped the wings. Lost hair from about 3 weeks to 1 yr. Used to be really straight but now coming in curley. Lost probably half my hair but getting thicker now
So interesting to hear of each person's individual journey!
I lost appox + - 130 lb. I am 5' 6" and 58 years old...yikes just had a birthday, but I am in the best shape I have been in since I was in my 2O'S. I will be 3 years out as of March 22.
My genetics seem to be pretty good. I sure have a giggly tummy but considering I had 3 c-sections and a hysterectomy it is no worse than any other woman of my age. My upper thighs and my butt are not so pretty but shape ware and clothes do wonders! My inner thighs were absolutely gross at a year to two years out but are better now and my arms are great!! I am very active...no formal exercise, but I rarely sit still.
If I could magically have PS with no pain or effort I would do it just for vanity sake. But quite honestly I doubt that I will ever have it done....not ruling it out BUT not on the top of my list. To make any difference I would have to have a lower body lift and just the thought of the pain makes me cringe!!
I lost a lot of my boobs. Used to be a 40D. I thought I was now a B but low and behold by the time you pack all that skin in, I am a 34 C and with my bra on it is all good....not so much when the bra comes off! But I have not gone braless since my 20's, so I really don't mind.
I am so thrilled to have lost the weight and feel good about me, both physically and more importantly mentally. Perfection is in the mind of the beholder and I for one will never be perfect.....but I can be content and feel good about myself:)
