Anyone ever feel forgotten?
its so easy to get lost in the shuffle with the amount of people these centers see... to be honest in Ontario we are pretty lucky. In other provinces the waits are so much worse...having said that...ya it sucks if you happen to be the person whos file falls through the cracks.
My husband had to resend his referral 6 times and 9 months later FINALLY TWH has his referral....so I get it... Be your own advocate..call, call, call.

Hi Robin,
You're not the only one that feels forgotten. When I went through, they were changing processes, so it took me longer, at one point, my file went missing. They figured it was on the surgeon's pile of files. I made it in before they had a large influx of people coming in, but because of the process change I ended up having to wait for the new process. Then it wasn't who waited the longest, it was who got to the admin window first. But I got there, and I'm 1 year 10 months out and am glad I went through the process. May have taken a bit longer, but I got there.

Yes, I kind of feel that way. I'm not sure it's valid for me.... I might just be impatient. I've been waiting a week and a half for my surgery date. Partly the problem is that when the visit to meet the surgeon was booked I was told that day I would get my surgery date. Later I attended a support group where several of the women got their date within 2 days of meeting the surgeon. So now that it's been a week and a half....
I did start a thread about this roughly a week ago, where I learned of more people for whom the wait between surgeon visit and getting a surgery date for Ottawa was not super quick. My fingers are crossed, though, that by the end of the week (since it will be a new month) I get a call telling me my date is in June.
I think we all know how it feels Robin. The wait seems eternal, and it feels like everyone else is making that "got my date" post.
Then, all of a sudden it's you. Surprised the heck out of me.
It will come, and, no matter how long you wait, it will scare the $#@&* outta you, it will see like it's coming way too fast, and it will be totally worth it.
I would be okay waiting if I could understand why there is such variation in time between next seeing the surgeon and getting a date. Their scheduling makes no sense from my perspective. It ranges to getting a call the next day to waiting a month or more. On May 2 it will be 4 weeks
My boss asked me if I have a date yet so she can plan for my replacement and I have to say I don't know.

I feel the exact same way as you do Robin, and guess what? We are both out of the Ottawa clinic.
I have done all my required appointments, tests etccc.
Haven't heard from anyone at the clinic since February.
I have called and left a message 1 week ago and still as of today no one has called me back.
We just keep keeping on, and sit with baited breath for the phone to ring.
