Surgery 2 weeks away, what will I need?
Kitchen scale for sure.
measure cups - I found a set at the dollar store that I use at the dining table so that I could scoop out a serving of veg or whatever I was making and keep track of my intake.
I bought small ramkins so that I could pre make some "meals" and store them in the fridge or freezer. IT was easier to have meals organized.
muffin tins were handy to make egg bites or use to measure out other meals for freezing. freeze chili in the muffin tins and then defrost a puck as you need.
I also have small plastic containers that I use for my lunch. - lock n seal type - I fill one container and I know that is my limit.
I have a digital scale but haven't used it yet. Measuring cups, spoons and small bowls and spoons to eat out of, and small containers with lids is a great idea, so far ( day 6 post op) I can't get in all I should get in, so it goes back in the fridge.
Baby steps...
And a big one is: go buy a stool softener and start taking it now. U will get constipated on opti and my support group told me u dont want to be constipated in the hospital.
Hope that helps. Chris
