Oh my nasty!!!

Ok - not my best subject :)

I got some opti from someone else on this board (cheaper than buying from the surgeon, and I'm always up for saving a few bucks)..  there were a couple vanilla ones that were close to expiring...  though "hmm, I'll try one tonight"..  on my nasty that stuff is horrible!  I've put a few shots of Hazelnut (that another kind OHer gave me), and it helps a bit...

God I hope that chocolate tastes better..  This stuff is almost turning my stomach..

Any suggestions on making it taste better?  I'm not a coffee drinker, so putting decaf in it wont help...   (on the bright side, if I can't stomach it, think of the weight I'll loose (the wrong way) going through my 3 weeks of Opti :)

I tried to warn you the vanilla is horrid in my opinion. I used pumpkin pie spice and that wasn't bad. The chocolate was tasty especially with mint extract

You did warn me, but as my wife said - have you ever known a guy to listen without trying it himself :)     (This would be one time I actually agree with her) :)

This is gonna take some work!

Get some crystal light, I found they made it easy to get down.  Good luck.  :)

I did three weeks of chocolate since I had heard about other peoples experience with vanilla.

That being said, I used 600 ml of liquid instead of the recommended amount, plus 5-6 ice cubes.  For the first 5 days I used decaf coffee instead of water.  I found the coffee flavour cut the sweetness.  After that time, my taste buds got used to or anaesthetized to the taste and used water instead of the decaf coffee.

Good luck with your experience.

I don't know why peopel suggest the crystal light - That was horrible - I did that for my last shake and I dumped it out after 1 sip.

I really actually only liked the vanilla with cinnamon+clove+allspice+ davinci butter rum sf syrup.  That made it taste like a latte ad was very enjoyable until i ran out of the syrup.

The chocolate is much better - i always just drank the chocolate straight cause it was quite tolerable.

I added orange tangerine crystal light to it sometimes

Also .. I added 2tsp cocoa and it tasted just like the chocolate one

Same ... I added cocoa powder -- and pretended it was a frozen hot chocolate (I really had to use my imagination)

I tried the SF syrups first but found them sickly sweet

Good Luck

I did 3 weeks of Opti (I am just 3 weeks out from surgery today) and found that the only thing I added to either the chocolate or vanilla that I could stand was sugar free raspberry torani syrup. The first 4 days of opti were awful, I had to chug them as fast as I could just to get them down and chase with water, but after that I found blending them with ice and a tsp of the syrup worked for me and actually didn't mind them at all by the end. They will get better.
