Hello: I started my journey at 526, I had gastric by-pass August 22, 2006. I then weighed 370 when they did the surgery., I am down to 240 right now. I have officially hit the brick wall. I work out 4x a week with a personal trainer. There is no need to be scared, follow everything your Dr. tells you to do and you will be fine. I had my surgery done at Kaiser Sunnyside. It took me 18 months to get from conultation to the surgery, but it was well worth the wait. I am so happy to have had this surgery done. It literally saved my life. any questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]
good luck on your journey!

Surgery took about 2 hours. Stayed in the recovery room for about 3 hours, as we were waiting for a room to be available in 14-A. Had different room from when I had my DS in 2008.
Had IVs, compression cuffs, and catheter. No PCA, but the nurses injected pain meds thru one of my IVs. The IVs were taken off early this morning, the catheter removed a bit later, and the compression cuffs removed before I took a walk around the halls (took several such walks).
The nurses told me that I could go home once I peed on my own. I peed in the bucket about an hour after my catheter was removed and a couple of times thereafter. The nurse complimented me on my output the first time.
Stayed in the hospital approximately 29 hours. Glad to be home!
