Topic: satisfaction with surgeon
I started the process for surgery 18 months ago, on my own kept losing weight.  surgeon who I was seeing said "dont lose any more"  this and other things on how I was treated in office, just got the feeling this was the wrong time with wrong dr.  Now that I have gained most of what I lost I am ready to do this.  I will travel as far as I need to go to have a surgeon who has lots and lots of experience and has been recommended by others - you folks on this board.  Please any info on your experience with drs - good and bad would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Topic: RE: PEBB Enrollment - New State Health Plans
I'm a Washington state employee, so I think my PEBB options are different.  I do know from other's that have Kaiser, they make you do a 6 month weight loss class that I believe the insurance does not cover.  They have quite a few hoops you have to go through.  Most insurances do, but they seem to be pretty time intensive.  For me, what concerns me is that they do not do laproscopic surgery....it is open.

Hope that helps.

Topic: 1 Year Bandanniversary

This has been one of the best years of living!!!! I don't post much, but I am lurking almost everyday and want to thank everyone who does post.
Every comment gives me reason to reflect on what has happened and what the future holds.  I am no longer taking BP meds, no longer have severe knee and ankle pain. Still have longings for forbidden food, but have been able to semi-control the shoveling! My next goal is to get some strength training in my free time.  I love my band!

Thank you Katrina,

That was very sweet of you to reply to my post. I am not getting any counselling because I can not afford it. I am unable to afford my medications to at this time. Medicare quit covering anti depression and anti anxiety medication. Government run health are is not all its cracked up to be...

Anyway, I am going day by day now and some are good and some are not.

Tricia,

I pulled up the OR board because I am going to be doing some business travel In Eugene next month (I live In Houston) and came across your post. I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time, my heart really goes out to you. You are not a failure, the surgery failed you not the other way around. I could go on and on about this but it won't do you any good. Are you getting any counseling?  Have you posted on any other boards on OH? The complication forum? I have been on there myself. You are not alone, your life is worth living, you just need to lean how to again. You are in  thoughts and prayers...... Katrin
