Well, the surgeons office tried and we were denied immediately.  I am so depressed, I could cry.

Unfortunately, the Eugene area doctors don't allow people who have had surgery elsewhere to attend their support groups.  We used to have a group that met once a month and everyone was welcome, but it got so no one would show up, so we disbanded.

Well, I have just called them and they told me it was not covered on my husbands policy, which kind of surprised me because it is a really good policy otherwise (as far as insurance companies go).  Did you guys have to fight them?

They are paying for mine. I ahven't got the final approval, but they did give a preliminary approval and the doctor said he doesn't anticipate any problems getting approved. Also the recptionist at the dr's office has blue cross and they paid for hers.  Have you called your insurance company? I think blue Cross is actually one of the easier ones to get approved.

Looks like I missed getting to attend this meeting by one day!  Should have logged in sooner...haven't been on this site for many moons and am desperately needing to get into a support group structure.  I emailed you several months ago, then started a new job and that has been my focus. However, I continue to backslide after an initial 100 pound weightloss...have now gained 13 pounds back and am freaked out!  I can't afford the time or gas to attend the OHSU support groups like I used to do, and would love to be able to connect with some locals. I rarely sign on to OH so would you be willing to send an email to my personal email letting me know the dates and times of the meetings?
My email is:
[email protected]
Thank you so much!

Topic: RE: does anyone have ODS? Questions...
ODS is my secondary insurance. I think they are all a bit different based on the plan your employer pays for. Mine did not cover it. Thank goodness my primary insurance did cover it though.

They don't cover WHAT?  I had Regence BC of Oregon three years ago and they paid for my RNY.  At the time, they paid for lap band too.

Supposedly it is not covered in Oregon but I am wondering if anyone has ever managed to get approval.
