Topic: RE: lap band gone, and now have gastric bypass
no i was originally scheduled to have the RNY up at OHSU. but they started and then aborted the surgery before they even made the 3rd incision.stating that i had some liver issues. yada yada yada. so then i found a new surgeon, had the lap band, a joke if you ask me. then had one bad experience after another with the band. needless to say they took it out and gave me the RNY like i originally wanted. yay. now i am home healing nicely. btw, new surgeon says there is absolutely nothing wrong with my liver. go figure.

Topic: Need advice :)
Hello! It's been a while since I have been on here, but need to reach out to my OH peeps!! I seem to be stuck in a rut on losing anymore, I think I may be done.  I know I have a lot of skin to someday remove HOPE!!  Anyways, I had originally got down to 182lbs (or so I thought) and I am stuck at 195 now.  Any ideas? I also need help on staying regular or what do you do for constipation issues?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I thought you had a gastric bypass in the first place?  Anyway, congratulations on getting rid of that choke collar and chances of living a much better life!

Topic: RE: Dr. Leger at Kaiser Permanente?
By now you've already met with your surgeon, but I wanted to recommend the From Thick to Thin Yahoo group, which, I believe, is made up of mostly Kaiser patients.  There should be somebody at the monthly bariatric support group (whichever one you go to) who can hook you up if you give them your email address.

I don't know Dr. Leger, but every time he's mentioned in the group I go to, he gets a round of applause (literally).

How did your meeting go?  Did you get a surgery date?

not worth your time or money, i went to one up at washington square a few yrs back...first of all they tell you it will all be gone and never return....lie's lie's lie's...after my 8th treatment the hair stayed away about 6 weeks and came back even worse than before.  because they shave your neck and chin before every procedure. i ended up spending a few thousand dollars on it. and for what???NOTHING.....

Update: Just called to check and was told that the May eval "went well" but they are still waiting for the result.
