I had a breast reduction done by Dr Reid Mueller at OHSU and cannot sing his praises high enough. My insurance paid for him so I don't know the costs, He usually won't see WLS people for at least a year post WLS.

I had my vsg in March as well. 10 days after you and I'm also down 57.2lbs! Congrats! I love my sleeve!

Hi Nikki, are you still fighting the battle with Providence? I hope you can eventually get the VSG. As you know, I ended up getting the RNY and have actually been very happy with it. I'm losing well and feel really good. If given the option, I would still go for the VSG though - for the pyloric valve.

Topic: OHP covering the VSG?

Has anyone heard of the Oregon Health Plan paying for the VSG? I don't have OHP, but have heard rumors that they are paying for it now and I want to use that fact to fight my own insurance woes.

Probably the best way to make sure you stay in the loop about announcements for the group is to join the NW-OSSG Yahoo Group. Here's a link:

And just for reference, we meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Typically meeting at a local restaurant for dinner before hand (at about 5:15 to 5:30 pm-ish) and then have the meeting at 7pm at Carr Chevy World (close to the TV Hwy & Murray Blvd intersection) - it's just adjacent to K-Mart in Beaverton.
