Topic: RE: REVISION

I'm surprised no one posted a response.  I'm gonna be no help at all, 'cause I have no clue what ROSE is.  There may be some other OH forums that talk specifically about "failed" surgeries or revisions where people might be more helpful.  Hope you find the answers you need.

Topic: Blessed Birthday and today's POE (plan of eating)
I had an extraordinarily blessed day yesterday.  I did go a little off plan with some SF stuff (birthday cake baked for me by Bill, and a SF choc covered pretzel, which was one of my gifts).  All in all, it was a terrific day.  Today's plan is to eat like a post-op.  LOL.   1 - 1 egg, 1/4 bagel with butter, coffee 2 - orange and 1 choc covered pretzel 3 - small turkey sandwich on rye bread with salad 4 - banana 5 - 3 oz chicken, 1/4 c. stuffing, 1/4 c. veggies 6 - SF BD cake   The challenge for today is that we are having our office Christmas party, which is simply ****tails and hor d'oevres.  My plan is to shoot someone a text before I go in at 4 pm, put a diet soda in my hand, mingle for about an hour, then head out and text someone to let them know I survived.  I am going to try to focus on the people and activity and decorations and not eat a single, solitary bite of anything because it's not on my plan.  "I had WLS.  I don't eat that." That will be the mantra in my mind.    Planning on making an OA meeting tonight.  The speaker is a larger woman who had failed WLS.  Interesting story.   Have a blessed day!

Topic: Mindful Eating

I just ate my lunch while talking on the phone with my daughter and checking out train schedules online.  I looked around afterwards like, "where the hell is my food?"  I need to make my eating a mindful activity.  This is really just a reminder to myself.  You all know how helpful it is for me to put things out in the universe.  :-)

Some days I do better than others and the truth is, comparatively speaking, it's nothing like the days before WLS, so what I need to remind myself of, is, as you said, intentional eating, which for me is about making mindful choices, not reaching for handfuls of this or that. . .  I am going to log my food choices as that usually helps, if for not other reason to give me pause as to whether or not I really want to eat this or that. . .

I am also working on exactly when I can make myself get back into the gym habit...  the idea of getting up at 4:30 is not appealing, but the nighttime seems like if I don't have a plan for something other then going home, that is what I want to do. . . grrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh, without 5 days at the gym, I will not be where I want to and that is why I have to DO IT!!!

Perhaps we can figure a way to help one another. . .

Have a great day!

Laureen

Sorry to hear that.  Yesterday was my absolute worst eating day since my surgery, I'm sure.  I'm back on track this morning, having a weighed and measured, on-plan breakfast.  I did have a friend text me this morning to remind me that I need to eat "intentionally."
