Topic: Merry Meet!
Hello everyone. My name is Valentina (call me Val). I was banded on 4/1/05 and had to have another surgery on 4/11/05 to push the band up some. I had an enlarged liver that was pressing against my band and I couldn't get anything down. Not even water. Let me tell you all that going to the hospital for dehydration sucks. Anyway, things couldn't be better now. So far, I've lost 37 lbs. and I haven't felt this good in a very long time. I started off at 270 lbs. and my goal is 150 lbs. Also, I seem to be extra sensitive to fills, so the maximum amount of fill I can have at one time is 0.5cc. It makes the weight loss go a little slower, but at least this way I don't have to worry about being sick from too much fill. I just wanted to introduce myself to my fellow Pagans and wish each and every one of you the best of luck with your weight loss. Blessed be.

Hi Liz! Welcome! Good luck with the insurance. Just don't get Aetna or Cigna! I've heard they are the worst two as far as WLS is concerned. I know Aetna sucks because I have it. They have already denied me once and I am going to have to start all over again with the papers. I am on the 6 months doctor supervised diet that is just about required by all insurances now and will be done with that on June 27th and we will send in the papers all over again and start once more. I've been trying to get this surgery since November and am going nowhere fast.
We have two things in common. We're both witches and we both weigh 360. I have gained 5 lbs. since I've been on the 6 months diet
which sucks. My doctor put me on a 1400 calorie diet even though I told him I cannot lose weight on 1400 calories. So I have gained 5 lbs. It's crazy. Diets do not work or we'd all be thin.
Anyway, I am about to get off of here and go to bed, but wanted to say hello and welcome.
Joni

Topic: Got a 3X Gown I need to part with!
Hey Ladies,
I have a 3x Renaissance Gown that I have listed on eBay and I did not even think to come over here first and see if anyone was interested in it! Send an email to AutumnzMelody @ bellsouth.net (remove the spaces)and I will email you the link or you can just go to eBay and look for a Renaissance Gown Twill 3X. If it does not end up selling there I am always willing to work out a trade or something!

MM everyone, I just found this site, today I am three weeks and three days post-op and very pleased with everything.
My boyfriend of 5+ years has been extremely supportive of my surgery. He was just as supportive before regardless of what I needed the support for. I am lucky to have a very supportive family and a close circle of friends who are extremely supportive of my WLS. I think my relationships have become stronger because of those who have shown my support and feeling better about yourself helps you project a more positive environment for people to be around.
I have lost 28lbs to date.

Well, I am extremely lucky to have the most supportive husband in the world. It is because of his insurance that I am able to get this surgery at all! The people closest to me are 100% supportive and pulling for me all the way (and I am so thankful for them, believe me). I have some relatives who are not being supportive at all (most notably, my sister and my father) but I am doing what I have to do right now - if they can't support me then I am just going to have to step right over them and keep going.
This is too important to let negative people try to mess it up for me, if you know what I mean. And as I said before, I do have an inner circle of people who are doing all they can to help me get through this as smoothly as possible.
Now, if April 18th would just hurry up and get here, LOL!
Bright Blessings to all my Pagan brothers and sisters here -
