MM! So how did the cleansing go? That is such a GREAT idea... I am definitly going to have to schedule myself for some body attunment before I go in for my surgery as well! I hate this habit of "not thinking about myself" that I still have, I really have to make it a point to change that in the future! 
If it was someone else having surgery, I probably would have suggested some kind of pre-surgical healing or something...
Anyways... so I assume you had your surgery... how did it go?

OK, so we Pagans might not visit the boards so frequently....lol... but we are here!
I just wanted to drop you a quick line and say HI! I welcome any and all pagan WLS folks to IM me or email me anytime! I like meeting new folks online and anyways, I know how detatched you can feel on some of these support boards that are super heavy in Abrahamic faiths. (Not that there is anythign wrong with that, it is just I know how alone it can sometimes feel... you just don't feel comfortable talking about healing rituals and such on those kinds of boards! LOL!)
Anyways, good luck with your surgery... I am hoping to nail down a specific date for mine in January 2005. YEAH!

Sorry... I am not in the Twin Cities but I visit there once a year! My Aunt lives in Invergrove Heights so we go to visit there for a week, and of course we have to hit MofA.... 
! I know that it is kinda off topic but have you ever visited Ft. Snelling? I went there a few years ago and the land just vibrated of such history and energy... I was captured by it. Living there I am sure you were forced to go there on school trips and stuff and find it different than I....LOL!
Anyways.... I hope to get out there again sometime in the late spring early summer this year.

I left a message on your surgical support page like an idiot... I should have posted it here....lol...
So here it is:
I just wanted to leave you a quick message to let you know that you are not alone in all of this "approval nightmare." I have military health care and I have been waiting over a year from my procedure so I know how waiting and commuting and everything can really drain you! 
I hope that your surgeon or doctor can convince your insurance to make an acception for you after a few months of "good faith effort" to abide by their presurgical diet. Especially since you have some fairly serious complications and comorbids. I will light a candle for you!

Yes, prayers of healing from any religion are just that... good energy and vibrations sent along the cosmos. We must remind ourselves that magick and prayer go hand in hand and it is the intent behind that energy that really makes the difference. It is the prayers for our "salvation" that tend to strike a nerve in our community and I typically counter with something like "thank you for your effort but I find love and light from the Lord and Lady and do not need salvation for my godly deeds speak louder than any words of salvation." That typically stumps them right in their tracks. LOL!
Let us know how your procedure went Hun!

The first surgical seminar I went to, there was a woman sitting in the row in front of me and my mom. She started in telling us how much she loved her surgeon, and how she just KNEW she'd chosen the right man to do her surgery because the very FIRST thing he did when he had his consult with her was to take her and her husband's hands and pray with them, then went on to talk about the risks of WLS and how everyting was "in God's hands". Both my mom and I had to chew our tongues off not to respond with something like "I just could NOT have major surgery done on me by a man who tells me it's 'in God's hands' whether I live or die."
I know exactly what you're saying about Alabama being a place where it just doesn't do to say out loud you're NOT a Christian.

Pagan prayers are headed your way! All the christian prayers get on my nerves too, but people have told me that all prayers are good energy, no matter where they come from, so I'm trying to remember that.
May the Goddess hold you in her arms and offer you an uneventful surgery and an easy recovery and very quick and healthy weight loss.
