If this board becomes active please let me know. This is a cool topic, and I currently work with EVP and no, it is nothing as sinister as portrayed in "White Noise". Its much more interesting.

Hi Star, I have worked with EVP myself. Do you currently research with a group? Kim

I know what it is and have worked with it but I never had any success. However people in my group have had great success with it. You can go to the webpage below and hear some of their work if you like. http://www.dfwparanormalresearch.com/evp.html I would love to hear some of yours. Kim

cool link, thanks! How are you doing it? I use a FREE EVP maker program on my computer, it is complicated to understand, and Im still in the trial and error department with it. Have you ever used Stefan Bion's EVP Maker via computer? Also, with today's technology a simple tape recorder and mic with background noise will not produce good results. I know I wasted months trying it this way. I can not afford a digital recorder right now. The one I want is hundreds of dollars although there are some cheaper ones out there, I hope to have the one I want by Christmas. A friend of mine is extremely precise with her recordings, in fact she has worked on some very high profile murder investigations using EVP, although THIS would never come out in the investigation or trial. She recieved a EVP with a message for me, thanking me for what I was doing .Email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to share the recordings. My recordings are not fine tuned as her's are so I have a hard time understanding them but Im still working with them. It takes time and patience and doesn't happen overnight. I know she has been doing this for 20 years already. I do find it so fascinating! Sandy

Your friend sounds amazing. I currently do not use anything special for my EVP while downloading. I will definately check out the program you have sent the link to. As far as recorders are concerned we believe that using the standard cassette tape shoe box recorder and the old reel to reels are the best. My group leader says you are looking for anyting 1500 mhz (I think) and lower and the cassette tapes and reel to reel have served him best in using verses the digital. It's basically all personal preference if you ask me. I just sent you an email, I would love to hear your recordings. Kim

Actually all aspects of paranormal research I find fascinating. I do not know of ANY groups in this field, in my state. I go trapezing through cemetaries and places rumored to be haunted all by myself. I do have a photograph, I took on Halloween in 1998, at my great grandfather's grave. It was getting dark, and as part of my geneology research I decided I needed photos to be sure I had the dates of birth and death accurate in my geneology files so here I go off to the cemetary, not even thinking about it being Halloween (Samhain, All Hallows Eve or Halloween as we know it today- the time when the veil is lifted between the living and the deceased and is also a good time for spirit communication and honoring the dead) Paranormal research was not even in my vocabulary at this time, it is because of this photo, I took an interest in it. When I developed the film, there is a fine, shadowy mist across his headstone. I was snapping pictures in succession and snapped some of my great grandmothers at the same time. I do not smoke so that is out of the question with what this white shadowy mist could be, I have no idea. It shows clearly on his headstone and my great grandmothers is clear as a bell. Ive never had anyone look at the pictures but if you want to see em, I will send them to you.

Yes please send the pics to. I love seeing good paranormal pictures. Investigating is seasonal it does seem. We are busy from the end of August, with a major peak in October (as you mentioned Samhain and also I think with the Halloween holiday everyone wants to see ghosts lol). It dies down in late January. This has been our pattern anyways. Right now its too hot to do anything. The places we like to go are snake infested (out in the middle of nowhere), but cooler air is around the corner and I am just itching to get out again It's almost like an addiction of some sorts. There are research groups all over. If you email me what part of Alabama you are located in I will see if I can find something in your area. I like to freelance on my own at times but its also good to have ties with a group to learn new techniques and you tend to get into places that you normally wouldn't get into to. They usually have meetings once per month for all of the local groups and individuals who are trying to get into the door of doing research, they are opened to anyone who wants to come. It's a good way to do some networking and find new ideas. If you have Real Player you can listen to Les (the founder of my group) on his internet radio show "Paranormal Edge" every Wed. at 8:00 pm and again at 11:00 pm cst. Past shows run on Sundays at 8:00 and 11:00 pm cst. He and Kramer are quite amusing. http://www.dfwparanormalresearch.com/TheParanormalEdge.html I will send you some of my photos later this evening if you want to see them. Kim
