Here is an update:

For the Susitna valley communities of Talkeetna, Willow and Cantwell, the ashfall advisory is now in effect until 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, south and west of Talkeetna.

A new eruption at Mount Redoubt occurred at 8:41 a.m. Friday sending ash to 50,000 feet. Ash from the eruption last night continues to linger in the area. Minor ashfall of a trace to one eighth inch is expected through this afternoon. Mount Redoubt remains active and additional eruptions are possible.

We are in the Susitna Valley, but we are South of Willow & Cantwell.

I just heard.   Mt. Redoubt just keep rumbling away......
Honestly, we are all safe.  Thankfully, there are no breathing problems, and so far..... we have not had any ash fall.

Court, hope you are having a relaxing one-on-one time with hubby this morning.

Michelle, I would get someone out to your new house & have a 2nd "opinion" on it.  (Just like a doctor.... 2nd opinions never hurt!!)
We are fine with all of volcano activity here.  Watching the news a little more, to see where the ash is predicted to fall, and what not.  Supposed to snow again, so the moisture will help all of the ash that is currently floating in the air, to come down...... until the next eruption, at least

We do not have a whole lot planned here for the weekend.

hey ladies, how excited are we for the weekend? saturday dh works to its mommy/jordan day. i was really excited to take him to the park but then of course it had to rain today so i know it will be muddy. lame! im kinda bummed out about that ive been waiting for the weather to warm up to take him to the park. oh well lets keep our fingers crossed for next saturday. we need to hit up the mall anyway, i am making dh a big birthday package (new clothes since he's been trying to drop a few pounds) and tickets to see the comedian lewis black on april 4th.
ok i have an OT question, i dont know if you ladies know anything about it, but i never finished my degree, i got one semester under my belt about 10 years ago and couldnt afford to go bac****pt saying i would and i never did. i am desperate to go back now, i have checked out local accelerated programs for adults and so on, maybe even online schooling but im so afraid that between surgery and me going back to school i will seriously miss out on time with jordan and i dont want him to resent me when i get older, but at the same time i hate living paycheck to paycheck and i know if i get a formal education it will help me get a better job, financial security, a nest egg, help me build up the measly $200 i have set aside for jordans education. do any of you have experience with this?
i really hope you are all having a good friday!!!

Morning!   Ohh  Court sounds like a nice evening you had.  We had a pretty good evening after a stress filled day.   We went to church...had dinner there....some music and a little bible study.  DH and I were the ones setting up and cleaning up after dinner.   We had a good night though.  We ran into a stumbling block with the house.  Of course it'll happen now with only a week to go.   The appraiser says there's lead paint on the exterior trim of the windows.   The seller says there's no way he tested even because all of the windows have been replaced in the last 10 yrs so there can be no lead paint.   The realtors were supposed to talk to the banker yesterday so we could figure out what will happen with all of that.   Ahhhhhhh like I needed more stress.   I am having problems with work as well....hopefully this is all God thinks I can handle at one time.

I am very very glad it's Friday!  Woops forgot to turn the alarm on last night and woke up at 5:18 and have to start at 5:30.   It's a good thing I don't even have to get dressed LOL.

Jamie...any more news on the eruptions?   How is it all going for you?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Morning ladies.  I am up earlier to give my poor exhausted husband some time to rest so I will take the girlies in today.  It is his day off so I am going to take some leave from work this a.m. and spend some alone time with him.  Yesterday went well.  I went and got my nails done, one of my best friends went with me, we had dinner then went to a jewelry party.  Some very nice adult me time.  Tonight I pick my mom up from the airport, she has been in the bahamas all week and for the weekend we have the first soccer tournament of the season.  Go Fury!!!  Hope you all have a wonderful and great weekend.

Topic: LONG--Did I ever tell you....
So, in February, when we got home from our vacation, that we were reading the paper (our local town paper) and there was a picture of the top portion of our old house, and it had caught on FIRE??
Needless to say, we were FLOORED!!!  Of course, thinking..... was it something that we did??  DH had went throughout the entire house, over the course of like 6 months before we listed the house, and upgraded all of the light fixtures, among other things.
Well, we found out, through the grapevine, that >>>>SORRY........ long......
The city was paving like 5 streets, ours being one of them, and thier plan was, while they were going to be paving, they were going to re-do the exsisting water lines, so, one by one all of the streets were dug up & the water lines replaced.
***** But, going back, a little background, We listed the house March 31st, 2008.  We had an offer 4 days later, and we accepted the offer.  About 10 days later, we received a letter in the mail from the city that they were going to be paving, and about the water lines.  FIRST thing we did, was call our realtor, and asked him "what should we do, we accepted the offer"  He said to us, "you do not need to disclose that, since you have accepted an offer"  So, we didn't.  We were paying our realtor for the advice.  He should know the laws, consequences & such.

Anyways, So, here we are FREAKING OUT about the fire, and if it was something we did to the house could have resulted in a fire.  EXTREME GUILT here.
So, it is told to (grapevine) us, that since the city had re-done some of the water lines, the city had sent out notices to all of the people in that area and let them know that there might be a potential for their water freezing up, and to let their water drip, to try & prevent that from happening.
(Here we are in the last part of March, and the weather still dips below freezing at night)
So, the guy that bought the house, his water froze up & when he called the city to complain, evidently, they sent someone over to his house (this is where it is fuzzy-- not sure if it was a city employee, or if the city hired someone who delt with this type of thing & specialized in it)
and somehow caught the house on FIRE!!!!
So, no one is living at the house right now, we drove by there this last weekend, and there is a big industrial-sized dumpster in the driveway, a lockbox on the front door handle, and you can see into the livingroom upstairs, that there  is NO sheetrock on the celing, just vapor barrier!!  Not to mention, that there is a tarp covering the entire roof!!!
DH told me that he drove by after he read about it in the paper, that all of the carpeting was laying out in the front yard!!!  That carpet was 11 months old!!!!  We put up with the CRAPPIEST, GROSSEST, MOST DISGUSTING carpeting, and put in new stuff to get the house to sell.
So, I am sure he had homeowners insurance in place, so, they will fix the house, but, man, putting myself in a new homeowners shoes..... THAT JUST PLAIN SUCKS!!!!

OK, long enough, I wrote a NOVEL!!
