Topic: RE: First period after RNY!!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY Congrats to you!!!! I totally know how you feel. I am like this every month, hoping and waiting for AF to come. Guess it's a glimpse of hope that our bodies are hopefully going back to normal and getting regular!
Topic: First period after RNY!!!
My friends all think I am crazy, but I am thrilled to death that my period came on it's own! I had RNY on 4/13/10 and had started my period on my own the day before surgery...well, 28 days later it showed up again! I'm so excited. I'd never have thought as a grown woman that I would be so happy to see it, but I am!

201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!
And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!
Surgery Date: 6/5/07
i had the rny and starting on my 2nd month post op my periods started coming like clockwork--i've not had a single problem since my surgery.
i don't know how the vgs is with your having pcos but i know the rny corrects things immediately.
good luck!

trust me once you have the surgery your periods will straighten out very quickly.
also don't worry about having your period when you go into surgery, they deal with these things all the time and most women usually have a period right after surgery because of the medications they give us.
my periods were very screwed up before my rny--but for the last almost 3 years they are like clockwork.
hang in there it will be better very soon!

Hello everyone I had Gastric By Pass on the 29th of April and I had started slow that morning and I am now 10 days out and am still having one...Will it ever stop???
Topic: Period on and off for over 6 weeks **TMI**
This doesn't have much to do with my up coming WLS but here's the deal:
I take Provera and back in March my nephew got a hold of them and ruined 6 of the 10 pills. I had already taken the other 4 and was thinking to get it filled again but never got around to it and I assumed I probable wouldn't get it this time because I didn't take all of the pills. Well about 2 weeks later I got my period for nine days! And it was VERYheavy ( I actually considered trying Depends to see if I could get relief from the dubeling up on protection) Well it ended the on a Saturday then the 8 days later (Easter Sunday) I started again. I thought it may have been spotting but it continued on just about as heavy as the last week and lasted again till the next Saturday. Then I was off for 6 days and started again the fallowing Sunday That was last week and it wasn't nearly as bad as the other weeks. It ended on Saturday and I've been clear all week but I'm worried it will start again on Sunday or something. What could be going on will me? Do I need to take another month of the Provera to get back on track??? Am I going to need a hysterectomy???(my sister in Law put that one in my head)
I know its kinda confusing, But any ideas are appreciated!! Thanks!

Topic: Newbie considering VGS
I have been researching WLS and was first interested in the Lapband, then got looking into the VGS. I was diagnosed 15 years ago w/ PCO and infertility. IF I did not take a birth control , I did not have a period , and while on BC's my periods were almost nothing. After reading through here for awhile, I'm wondering what will happen after surgery. Other than weight gain and infertility I did not have any other symptoms that I knew of.
Those of you who had WLS and are now suffering from menstral problems, did you have these problems before surgery and now they are just worse?
WOndering if the surgery wouldnt be just like jumping from the pan to the fire!!! LOL
Thanks

Topic: RE: Need some advice... Thank you
I have not had my surgery yet but have a lot of experience with infertility and PCOS. The best suggestion I can give is to seek out the advice of a fertility specialist, a reproductive endocrinologist. When I first started with one (before I got pregnant with my son after doing insemination, metformin, clomid, etc.), I had to pay out of pocket as my insurance did not cover it. However, it was the best thing I ever did. My OB had been trying to "help" me out (not that I didn't love her, I did), but she was not a specialist and not doing the right thing. Almost eight years after seeing him I have a six year old son and 17 month old fraternal girls. If seeing a specialist is not an option for you, I highly reccomend the "Taking Charge of your Ferility" book and website as well. There is also a website (or group, sorry I can't remember right now) called "SoulCysters" that was extremely helpful. Good luck to you- infertility is extremely stressful. I hope things goes well!
