I have PCOS and have been on Clomid in the past, but my doc never supervised like this and I was not able to have the HCG shots to release eggs because he was not trained to give them. We were about to start injectable fertility drugs when we found out we were PG! At 19 months out things just worked out on their own. Our DS is 7 so again I can understand your frustration in the waiting.
I can't offer advice on the HCG shots but just wanted you to know that you're right to say it's possible.
Also, if you haven't already, try the Pregancy After WLS forum on here, too. There are many ladies TTC after WLS and lots of ladies that have gone through many fertility treatments. It's a very supportive board.
Best of luck!

I have some questions and hopefully you'll have some answers. I had RNY almost 16 months ago and I have lost 133 pounds. I have been off the Nuvaring since February and we are TTC. Last month I used Clomid and responded well. There were 2 eggs and my progesterone level was 65. They gave me the shot to release the eggs. However, my uterus lining wasn't as thick as the Dr. would like. My period was 5 days late but no pregnancy. This month I took Femara and I now have 6 eggs. My uterus lining is thicker than last month. The Dr. would not give me the shot because he said that when the eggs release the space would fill with a hormonal fluid and it could cause a lot of pain and it could make me very sick. I go in next week for the progesterone test. We are "practicing" everyday for the next 5 days . I also have PCOS. I have an 11 year old son so I know that its possible, but I am getting discouraged. Can anyone offer some advice? Has anyone had a similar situation?

Hi I had a complete hysterectomy in 07 . My Dr. told me that it would take care of the PCOS . I was so excited . Thought that I may finally lose some weight and some or all of the symptoms would go away . Well I am sorry but he was so wrong . I have gained more weight thank ever and the symptoms are still here . I have 1000 skin tags I bet you . I am now going to have the RNY next month . I pray that it helps . My only regrets are that I had the hysterectomy instead of waiting until after surgery to see if I could have a baby,,,

Other than that, I have been fighting a pre-cancerous condition called endometrial hyperplasia, which if you haven't had a period for a couple of years, you might be at risk. It's a build up of the lining of the uterus and can lead to cancer. I was 30 when this was diagnosed (after years of asking the dr's what was wrong with me, I finally found one that knew what she was doing).
Anyway, the recommendation for me was to have a hysterectomy, but I want to try to have children. So then it was recommended that I have weight loss surgery. But I have to be monitored every 6 months and have endometrial biospy's (which aren't fun) and I have to take birthcontrol pills every day and have a period every month.
PCOS is something you can deal with and it sounds like you're young enough that you can prevent the really bad things from happening. Just make sure you do keep on top of it and don't let your symptoms go un-checked.

Thankfully, I get small ones. When I'm in for an appt for another reason, I'll ask for her to freeze them off and she will, w/o charging me. Has anyone tried tying a string around it? It got rid of a stubborn one near my eye that freezing didn't work on. It was a pain to get the string around it.
