Oh, Georgina!! Thank you so much for letting me know how DS has helped alleviate your PCOS issues. It's such a b****!
I'm so looking forward to living normally again! I'm so excited about the DS. I feel like it's falling in love for the first time. Thank you again! This post brightened my day.

Topic: RE: Skin Tags
My PCP has removed skin tags a number of time at a routine office visit that was covered by my insurance. Sometimes the appointment is specifically for the skin tags and sometimes not but insurance has always covered it.

I don't think you're spamming. I think you are spreading info. You aren't selling anything and just want to share what has worked for you.
I'm very happy this has worked for you and your family.
I was screened prior to WLS and I'm glad because it would have been a non-surgical intervention but I didn't show positive. I tried the gluten-free diet anyway just in case I was only sensitive and not truly Celiac but I found the diet very hard to adhere to and could only last three months with minimal weight loss.
Everyone's different and this has worked for you.
Congratulations and thanks for the input.

Hello Sia!
I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, and now that I'm almost four months out from DS surgery, I can definitely tell that my PCOS symptoms are getting better. I have a normal period now without the need for birth control pills, my dark patches of skin are A LOT lighter and my excess hair is a lot less noticeable.
I'm sorry for all your troubles with PCOS and I really hope the DS helps you!
I don't know if I am fertile yet (not quite ready for kids) but I hope that someday I can have a child thanks to my DS.

Topic: RE: Dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and This Hair
i really wish you would have asked before you read my autobiography to everyone on OH. My gosh i have lost 105 pounds, and the one thing that hurts me to my heart is this facial hair, and then i did the laser surgery thing as well. horrible results. on the skin, i am african american and i have thes bloches on my chin and neck and side of my face. can anyone say hair grows like a full beard. i hate it. it causes all kinds of emotional stress has anyone come across anything that would help kill this hair on the face and body. it really bothers me when trying to be intimate with my someone special and his hands touches my face. i cringe. he is polite and ignores it but my mind wont let me relax like i hope to.

Topic: RE: Period Problems??? TMI alert!
Thanks for the info. I am already on b/c pills and my doc just kind of shruggs her shoulders and says--well..maybe you just need to bleed--BUT FOR A MONTH??? Anyway, I am gonna ask my surgeon's office about it too. Maybe they know what to do to stop it. Thanks.

Might be a little different since I had RNY but I had my period right before my surgery. Then a few days after I started again. I thought it was due to the procedure my OBGYN had done at the beginning of the month. But then I just recently went back to my OBGYN a couple weeks ago and had explained all the symptoms I was having and he said it was PCOS. So he started me on birth control. But I did notice a difference in flow, length and even color after my surgery. Don't know if that helps but I think the surgery does have some affect on your cycle in someway.
