It could also be cervical irritation due to the NuvaRing.  If it continues it could be worth a call to your OB to make sure everything is ok.  I don't have any experience with the Ring so it's just a guess...

Thank you. I do not think it is well known by many people at all. And because it takes research on these things so long to become accepted fact in the general healthcare world....

I can only hope that sharing our experience at least some will be fore warned! We have already had my 3 year old daughter tested for ANY clotting disorders, but as she gets older, if she shows any signs of PCOS (which unfortunately she probably will) we will have her tested again.

Thanks for helping to spread the word!

Best of luck on your sugery! Hopefully your surgeon will be receptive of this information and take precautions, if needed.

Topic: RE: New Meds..........PCOS Sucks!
Hi, I know PCOS does suck big time!!!  I was diagnosed about 4 years ago and have been on Metformin for a while...more recently my doc put me on a combo dose ActosplusMet 15/1000mg 2x's every day.  They have found this helps with your insulin levels faster and decreases your cysts (at least that is what my doc said).
Your topamax dosage is probably 100mg, that is usually the normal dosage!
Anyway, I know that al the meds are crazy and they are difficult to take, but once you have that surgery all will get better within a 2 year time period and it will all be worth it!  Good Luck!!!

I know sometimes when I was on birth control I would have stopped a cycle and begin another in a couple of days.  you should consult your doctor, with your WLS and all of the hormone changes in your body, this could explain the extra bleeding problems!!
Good Luck, :)

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious daughter.  Thank you for spreading the word on clotting disorders and PCOS.  I know a couple women with PCOS who had pregnancy losses before they were dx'd with and treated for clotting disorders.  I had no idea it could cause extra risk after surgery, however.

Confused. I'm not really sure if this is where I should post or not so please forgive me.

I finished my period on thursday, which is also the day the I had put in my new nuva ring. Well last night the hubby and I had sex and this morning I woke up with a little blood in my panties.

I've been on bc  for over 6 years, and never had any issue of spotting or nothing of this sort.

What the heck is that?

I've never had that issue at all, and we didn't do anything out of the normal while having sex, anyone have any idea?

Your story sounds all too familiar.  I am taking clomid now and took it last month with no sucess.  Both months I also had to take the provera to bring on a period.  I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago; I was very heavy (285 lbs)...in Oct 2007, I had gastric bypass surgery and have since lost 140 lbs.  I have still had no luck with getting periods on my own or getting pregnant.  My husband and I have not used any protection for years now; I am beginning to wonder if it will ever happen.  Anyways, it is nice to read about people that have had some success; it gives me a renewed hope.  Tavia
