I feel so crazed about my hair growth...........I just get tired of waxing. The spots are horrible. I feal like my skin is being discolored due to the hair bumps. I want to ask about your wls surgery and the PCOS. did your insurance cover u because u had pcos? I ask becuase I am at a bmi of 47, with out comorbities. but i do have the pcos and insomnia but not sure if this is enough for approval. the suspense is killing me.
Topic: RE: which WLS is best for PCOS?
Hi,
I was told by my PCP, Endocrinologist and Surgeon that for people with PCOS, the bypass is more effective. They all said that I could lose only half the weight with the band, but the bypass will give more results. Also, the bypass is good for insulin resistance (goes with PCOS) . I used to have low blood sugars and get the shakes if I didn't eat. Since surgery I have not had 1 low blood sugar.
It should be your decision though........but for me I wanted the best results now and in the long run. I would ask your doctors and talk to others with PCOS.
Good Luck!

Topic: which WLS is best for PCOS?
I am currently in my 6 month medical supervision period and am having a hard time deciding which surgery (band or RNY) would be best for me with PCOS. I am 38 with a BMI of 41 and 2 small kids and was thinking the band may be the better choice but I'm curious if peole have opinions or information they can share.

I wouldn't worry about grossing anyone out, if you are reading information in here you have to expect a bit of it lol. I get this at the beginning and end of every cycle, PCOS used to be bad for me. now that I have lost the weight I have the opposite problem I am getting my period or spotting a few times a month. I am on day 7 right now, thought I was all done and bam it is like the heaviest day. cramping the whole bit. I don't think for me anyway I will ever be normal.
Good luck

Topic: meds for cramps?
Hello,
I'm new on this board. I had gastric bypass on 12/8. I started my period today (1st cycle post op). The cramps are ok..but since I cannot take ibuprofen, what can I take? Taking Tylenol
will not help with cramps at all. I usually had severe cramps.
Also....I was very moody the past few days (thought I was going crazy really) crying over anything.
I had nausea and vomitting 2 days ago. and nausea all day today. would the nausea and vomitting be a "PMS" symptom?
