Topic: RE: pcos info
I have had PCOS since I hit puberty, and I NEVER thought I could get pregnant unless I took some fertility pills. When I was first in the process of getting my tests done for surgery, to my complete and total surprise I found out I was pregnant! I was at my highest weight, exercising like crazy, but not losing a lb. So I am proof that yes you CAN get pregnant with PCOS. You may need to time your "fertilzation activites" just right so you can optimize your chances of conception. Your chances only improve as the weight comes off.
Topic: RE: Hope for less facial hair!
Hi Susan1277, I wanted to update for you. I had 8 treatments and my hair growth was reduced by 95%. I still have courser hair around my chin, but now it's blond and no longer black like it used to be. My hair was soooo bad, I could grow a better beard than my husband. No kidding. After 1 treatment I could tell it was working and even my laser tech cried for me when she saw the results. I have another PCOS friend with the same issue and she had RNY and is now getting laser hair removal. It is working for her as well, although not as dramatically as it did for me. She is getting great results, just taking more treatments. I'm not sure what laser her doctor is using, but this is what mine used the harmony machine by alma laser. I hope this helps you! Good luck on your journey. My sleeve was the best decision I ever made. :)
Topic: RE: Hi, I'm Jenny.. :)
Good for you Jennifer! I am new to OH too. I had a consultation with the sergeon last week and had one visit with the Dietician. This is the best choice for me.It will be a slow road, but I can`t wait to have my surgery! Once you make up your mind and go to the seminar & see the surgeon, you won`t be able to go fuul speed ahead! Now I think to myself, why did I wait so long! Best of luck to you, and keep in touch ;) Laura

Topic: RE: Periods after RNY
You are very welcome! I just posted all this and another link that first told me about the combo of Vit D & Inositol. It`s titled "This Can Help!" in the Forums.
Topic: This can help!
For those of you that aren`t getting your periods every month, Inositol (part of the B-vitamins) has helped me. I have 3 boys, and never realized how many people are taking meds for it. I am not a Doctor, and this may or may not work for you. This is a great article, mind opening! I take this every day and also with Vit D, because i`m low in D. But go to your doctor and ask about your Vit D levels, and mention Inositol. Many may laugh at you because it`s not "medication" but my doctor is very open minded and looked it up herself and told me that it wouldn`t hurt. She was shocked when I told her I got my periods back! Just goes to show a little research never hurts!

Yes! I also have PCOS and was infertile. After seeing the Dr and getting my Vit D levels checked he had me take it on a daily basis. I also get a newsletter about pcos and in there they talked about Inositol. It is a suppliment I get at the health store, and I take 2 every day. It helps with hormones, and insulin resistance, therefore getting me to ovulate again. I have 3 boys, so please don`t lose hope! Where there`s a will, there`s a way!! Good luck with everything, and research about the Inositol-not enough people know about this!
