Topic: RE: RNY slow or no weight loss with PCOS
I know someone with PCOS who had the RNY and about nine months out, she's lost 150 pounds. I'm going to the same surgeon and he told me that having PCOS won't affect my results. I honestly think, PCOS or not, it all depends on the person.

Topic: RE: Laser Hair removal for PCOS?
I've had AMAZING effects with a combo of laser and electrolysis. The woman I go to has a lot of PCOS women (including me, of course).

I never had anything heavy enough to be called a beard, but I had my own little five o'clock shadow going and it was a huge issue for me and my self-esteem. I shaved every other day, got totally irritated, and was never totally smooth except for the first few hours after. Now? I haven't shaved in about a year, my skin is perfect and baby smooth and I'm EXTREMELY happy.

Just to let you know, laser really only works on people with dark hair and very fair skin -- which describes me. If you've got lighter hair and/or darker skin, it won't work and some places won't even bother trying.

There's always electrolysis which is guaranteed to work for everyone and is absolutely permanent. And these days, it doesn't hurt very much. (In fact, it hurts a lot less than the laser.)

I have been doing laser at American Laser Center for years. I got my chin done and was so happy. So happy I got my lip, legs, bikini and arms done too. I was taking spirolactone too but I found it didn't work on all my hairy parts, including my chin. How my chin isn't completely hair free, there are a few subborn areas, including the area around a mole have there. But despite this the shadow is completely gone.  I heart laser!

Topic: RE: Metformin
There is a liquid version called Riomet. I just looked and CVS has it so other pharmacies may as well. Get with your doctor and get a prescription for it. Liz

Topic: Metformin
Hi everyone!

I'm currently on 2000MG of Metformin for my PCOS.  Does anyone find that they have trouble swallowing the pills after their surgery?  (i'm 3 years post op lap band)   What do you do to help you get them down?  Chew? Crush?  The bottle says not to take the pills that way, so I'm sorta nervous to do it.

Topic: RE: Anyone from here successful with ttc treaments?
 YEs, it can happen !!
I was told i was infertile and would need massive amounts of intervention to conceive..well my son surprised me being born in 2003..then i miscarried three times and went back to the fertility specialist..he monitored the heck outa of me and unfortunately, I reacted to mosts meds he gave me even the clomid and had a horrible reaction to metformin..so he kinda threw in the towel and just monitored me with bloodwork and u/s..so i decided to see a naturopath and an acupuncturist trained in fertility ...did all kinds of herbs and supplements, i cut out chocolate, caffeine and white bread etc..ate tons of broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage appraently they contain some properties to balance your estrogens etc..so low and behold i conceived with my daughter and we used some progesterone suppositories right away to try to avoid another miscarriage and she was born on august 15th 2008...i also tied my tubes at the time of her c-section..i am getting older and could not take any more losses...
it can be a rough road but oh the rewards are soooo sweet

have faith and explore ALL available options and listen closely to your own body..try some meditation cd's that are specific for trying to conceive..gets you 'in tune' with your body and it helped me along the way..I am willing to try anything especially when western medicine gave up on me.

good luck and dumping a truck load of baby dust all over you!!!

I also have Pcos and have been on treatment for it for some time now but with the metformin I also take Spiriton and it stops the hair growth. I use to have trouble with my moustach being dark and I'd have to bleach it but since taking the spiriton it has stopped.

Nope, no pain. Gets a little itchy once it starts drying but nothing major. Almost like when a scab dries. As far as your eyelid??? I think as long as you put a very tiny amount, just enough on a q tip, so it doesn't drip or anything.... I think you should be ok.
