Topic: RE: RNY slow or no weight loss with PCOS
I started at 288, this morning I was 170.
Sept will be 4 years.
I lost slowly in comparison to other people posting on the site at the time.
I still would like to be closer to 150, but I would take 170 over 288 ANY DAY and twice on Sunday!

I would lose 1-2 lbs for someone else's 6. It sucked to lose slowly but it did come off and I have not gained it back. I'm careful for the most part about my diet and I've found that if the scale screeps up a little, it is easier to drop down a few lbs that it was before surgery.

You will lose about 70% or your excess weight because of surgery, the other 30% will be about how you eat, how much you excerise.

I was pertrified of the surgery not "working" but it will for about 70%, the rest you have to put in!

Good luck sweetie! You won't regret it!

Topic: RE: Laser Hair removal for PCOS?
I have had laser hair removal and it didn't last for me. Apparently it is NOT 100% effective and is not permanent. I have been getting electrology work on my *****heeks, neck, etc over the past year. It is helping, but not gone yet. I can't afford to go as often as I need to go. It is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE side effect and just sucks really. ELEC works better than laser in my experience.

Something new that I've just started trying too. It's called Progessence and is an essential oil blend that helps regulate your hormones. It has progesterone in it and can be applied 1-2x a day to the side of the neck and wrists. You can check it out on my website, www.youngliving.org/sarahlyon, scroll all the way to the bottom.

Excerpt:
"Containing frankincense, bergamot, and peppermint essential oils to aid in absorption, Progessence Plus is the first-ever progesteroneserum on the market. It is portable, has a pleasant smell, and does not require the cycling of application sites like other progesterone supplements."

Topic: RE: Best birth control options for pcos
Thanks for the reply... somehow I missed it until today.  I had my b.c.consult yesterday.  My best options were the depo shot or the mirena.  So although I didn't think I wanted the mirena, it does seem to be my best option...so we scheduled it for the end of Sept.

Topic: RE: pcos and low blood sugar related?
Have you been referred to an endocrinologist yet? I found that although my PCP and OB are great they were not well versed enough in PCOS and its side effects. I would suggest going to see one. Mine has answered soooo many questions that my other dr's couldnt. My endocrin dr was the one *****ally suggested having surgery and him and my surgeon have worked together to give me the best care possible

I haven't had my surgery yet, but since i already am "borderline" low, i was scared because at the seminar i attended the doctor said after the surgery your sugar drops an inadequate amount- and i was thinking uh oh mine is already sort of low!!!

i was told to take metformin by my OBGYN because of my pcos & being insulin resistant -- however my regular family doctor advised me not to as i am on the verge of low sugar and metformin will lower it???

idk, its all confusing to me. but thanks for your input :)

Nope! But man do I want it! I wax once a week the ole moustache and chin. But I have plans!
I take everything one at a time... I am still paying on surgery. When that gets paid off, facial laser and renewing and skin wraps to add elasticity to skin, pay that off,  followed by plastics and paying that off.
If I was a rich girl, I would be done all at once ... but I am not!
Lemme know if you get it done!
