You may need just a good old rotta rooter! LOL i.e. a DNC. Get your pipes cleaned out!
I had a DNC and that solved a world of problems! Period got way less clotty.
My identical twin sister had one and then promptly got preggers! If you are PCOS you may have fiberous tumors too in your uterus. Cleaning the pipes just helps get your body ready to attach an egg!
BTW just because you had the surgery doesnt mean you may not still benefit from metaformin. Maybe go back on to help regulate the periods?
Good Luck Sweetie!

79 is not extremely low! 60 is low, 50 is low... 79 is on the verge of being low.
That being said... 79 might be low "for you". And you are having symptoms of low blood sugar.
Have you had your surgery yet? What kind?
I think you will find after surgery some relief from those yucky symptoms.
Prior to surgery I had borderline high results with huge drops into the 50s and 60s ... the metaformin help me to regulate.
My life after surgery has still had moments of low blood sugar that tells me ... "Girl go eat some protein!" Protein help keep your sugars stable and gives your insulin something to work on. I am off the metaformin right now as long as I watch out for signs.
So after surgery... you still gotta be conscious and know the signs to go eat something full of good proteins to get your sugars up. You still have to have regualrly scheduled meals, so your body has a schedule to plan its insulin production. I can not stress water and protein enough! Watch your carb intake! That will drop you fast!
Good luck!

i'm new to this website, but enjoying every minute of it & getting lots of helpful information. anyway i'm 21, 5'6 and 314lbs (eeeek).. ive gone to my seminar and im awaiting approval from my insurance.. however i goto my family doctor tomorrow after 3mos of recording my blood sugar levels, and a normal level for me from what im gathering is 79.. i was told that is extremely low.. i get the shakes and sweats, and my eyes get blurry from time to time. i was just confused, i thought most over weight people had high blood sugar? is anyone in the same boat as me? while at the seminar they said how much their bloodsugar drops after surgery so its kind of scaring me out of having it, because mine is already low? i also have pcos and am insulin resistant, could this be why its always so low? |

The dr can give you provera (I think you take it for like 9 days) and it will bring your period on. And he will prob start you on metformin. This will "help" with getting you regular. Then if you start on a fertility drug clomid or femara you can start whatever fertility schedule he might suggest for ya'll. Hold the faith!

My husband and I have been trying to get preg. for a while now. I am going to a doctor tomorrow to see if that is possible. I have heard that Dr. Harper is amazing!! Does anyone have any suggestions about what to ask the doctor when I go tomorrow? I have had PCOS since I was a teen and I am just starting to hope. The bummer of it all is that I was regular for a year and 5 months and I got off my birth control in Feb. and everything has gone back to what it was before surgery. Meaning periods being spaced far a part and and heavy bleeding. PLEASE give me some advice!!

Hello all! I just wanted to share a bit of happy news! I was diagnosed with PCOS a number of years back. I struggled with issues of not having periods. My doctor told me that my gastric bypass surgery would help to lower my chanes of infertility. I had my surgery 3 and a half years ago. I was married at the time and my husband and I just grew apart..we finally seperated! In July of 2008 I found out that his new gf was pregnant with her first baby and his too. I was devestated that it wasn't me! It was such a cheap shot below the belt. But maybe it was meant to be.
In the past year, I've still had no periods regularly and have been on a regime of every 3 months I start a cycle of birth control pills to induce my period. Well, on May 24th, I started on the South Beach Diet. It was time for my next round of bc, so I took a pregnancy test on June 13. It was again negative just like all the tests in the past. Well, I finished my round of birth control pills last Sunday and went all week without getting the start of my period. I started to get worried and stressed. I told my new husband that I needed to get a test because this has NEVER happened before.
I tested on Monday at about 10am...POSITIVE!!!! I couldn't believe it and still don't. So, I took another test on Tuesday morning at 5:30am when I first woke up- again POSITIVE!!! Something had to be wrong with those tests...and they weren't the cheap ones either...they were First Response tests. So, still in disbelief I went and purchased 2 more. I took my 3rd test today- cheap one from the dollar store- and within a matter of seconds those bright pink lines appeared- POSITIVE!
I've been told almost my entire life since I started my periods that children would be almost impossible without the help of fertility drugs---well, ladies, don't give up hope because obviously there is some chance out there. God works in mysterious ways :)
I hope this post gives you a little bit of hope because it's something I never had much of!
