Topic: RE: best WLS for PCOS
I think any will be effective and alot has to do with what you're planning post op. For me, I want to get pregnant, so the lapband is the best option. If pregnancy is not your issue then I would think any of them would work. They are tools for weight loss and work as well as you work them.

Topic: RE: a little frustrated, and confused - suggestions?
I work with bariatric patients in Florida and from what I have seen there are very few insurance companies that I can name that do not require a documented weight loss trial. Some bariatric surgeons have a prefered doc who does the weight loss trial. If you know who you want to do your wls then call there office and ask if they have recommendations. I say this because insurance companies are very particular and a lot of PCP's are not familiar with the requirements and people get denied if everything required isn't documented. Also some insurances require documentation to show that you have been overweight for a certain number of years. So get in writing from your company what there specific requirements are. A good surgeons office will be very familiar with the requirements of differnet companies. So try to figure out which one you want to use who is covered by your ins. And see how they can help u expedite this process.

People can have cysts that come and go and vary in number and size over time. I hope you don't have any more problems. Unfortunately - don't think there is any way to predict the future on these things. Goodluck

Yes. Before surgery periods were very infrequent but, every now and then I would have a realy long one. Once longer than a month, but by the time I could get into Gyn it stopped. Left my lower ab sore for a week. Now I just had surgery and having similar issue one day I think its staring the next I think its over then here it comes again. Hope this ends soon. At least I've not been overly emotional. My Gyn checked hormone levels last time and everything was normal. I have heard though that the long or heavy periods can happen when a cyst ruptures. My doc did vag ultrasound last time this happened and did say part of problem was PCOs

Topic: Birth Control
Prior to surgery I had to sue birth control in order to regulate my cycle.  I stopped taking it in June of last year and my cycle didn't actually start up and become a problem until the end of April. (I had some complications and was having surgery very regularly since January so my cycle was not even happening).  I started to take BC the end of April and in 2 weeks I STOPPED losing weight.  I realize I am close to capping my weight loss from surgery, but I am not done.  I don't want to start holding water again, but I need to start BC or something.  What do you all use  I am afraid of gaining weight.

Before you leap that I am not use any BC, I have not met the right person and am not sexually active.  I would like to use BC simply to regulate my cycle
