Oh congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you. How wonderful! I love hearing success stories, because I am at the point where I truely believe it's never going to happen for ME. So to hear that you have PCOS and are preggo is so wonderful. Congrats again!!!!
As far as the different types of chasteberry, I think she said 1 of the chasteberry is more concentrated, and it costs quite a bit more than the other one. IF you still have the bottle of the ones you were taking, would you mind doing me a HUGE favor and just tell me the BRAND the Mg's, just any information you could tell me off the bottle so I could have something SPECIFIC to look for?
So when you would have your period and ovulate you continue to take 2 vitex daily correct? (I just read that you don't take when your on your menses)
So no matter what, you take 2 a day until you concieve, correct?
How long did it take you to get pregnant once you started taking Vitex?
Do you believe it was the VItex that helped assist in getting you pregnant?

Hey-
So a while ago I went to Good Earth to get some Chasteberry and they had like 2 different kinds. I didn't know what kind to get, and of course the stupid lady helping me didn't know s*it about it either. So is there more information? I got a + OPK yesterday and today. But I would still like to get some Vitex or whatever eventually because my hopes aren't high. I guess that happens after so long. But anyway, thanks for you help. Did you end up falling pregnant, your first post said you had ovulated. How is the Vitex working for you?

My surgeon and his PA recommended RNY because of the metabolic issues related to PCOS. They also said you have a better chance of losing more of your excess body weight with RNY as opposed to the lapband. GOOD LUCK!
Topic: RE: PCOS diagnosis, no more??
I can't really answer your question, but I am kind of in the same boat. My cycles used to range from 45 days to 93 days. Completely random and impossible to pin down. Had 3 live births and one m/c. Was pg or nursing or both for 9+ years. Now my periods are like clockwork. I can tell when I ovulate, I have all the fertility signs, know when my period is coming. Its weird.
I do however have insulin resistance still. Weird.

soi am confused, i was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and sufferrd alot
but since having my kids, my cycles are normal and i have one large cyst but that may have been from the clomid
ya i do still suffer from the insulin resistance but my last glucose tolerance test was excellent
also had a huge endocrine workup and all hormones are good?? WTF?
so weird, so wondering do i have it? did i ever have it?
was it metablic x syndrome instead??
oh well, the endocrinologist is not pursuing it cuz i hope to have surgery in a few months but i find it strange???

Topic: Dr. Mario Alberto Almanza-Reyes
I was just posting this because I've had more people than I thought, write me and let me know how much their sorry and how they are praying. My momma is one of the nicest people out there, I wish that we can individually meet each and every person on this website that are planning on going to Dr. Almanza. I wish I could take you guys through a normal day in my life now that everything has messed up in my life. Going through my last summer as a high school student. I can't have fun... I won't have fun. I want justice to be served!!! I want to save someone's life. Please this is NO JOKE!! I wake up everyday and I think and pray about anybody who's in or going into surgery with Dr. Almanza... I pray for you guys. I don't even know you guys. My mom has been in ICU on a ventilator for 7 days now... my best friend... I can't go see her whenever I want to anymore... visiting hours are precise. My mom won't be able to see the 17th Anniversary of me arriving in this world, because she's too busy going through something that shouldn't have ever happened!!! DOCTORS MAKE MISTAKES... BUT WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR MAKES MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.. Yes, you might have had a WONDERFUL experience... but listen to the stories people.. just because you were lucky DOES NOT mean that everybody else was. There are many people around the United States and Canada that are dealing with their friends and/or family members DYING with deadly infections, holes in stomachs, esophagus, etc. You guys keep telling your friends to go.... and eventually, you are going to go through what me and my family and plenty other families are going through right now. I'm not trying to harsh Dr. Almanza's "mellow".... I am truly, honestly, and dedicative to preventing as many people from going to this doctor as possible. Please spend the extra money and getting done by someone who is, not only cheap and kind, but dedicated to helping you. Not a doctor who is just going to WHAM BAM over and never see you post-op (to many people). Please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE..... I am not doing this to get back at Dr. Almanza or anybody that is working over there just because they've done this to my momma. I am doing this to prevent YOU from ever going through something like this. It IS NOT FUN.
Love always and forever,
Miranda

Topic: Well for now it is a good thing
Since I was having issues losing weight after surgery, my PCP tested me for insulin resistance. Just to be sure. This morning I received the labs. Umm yeah everything is normal. The only thing off is my triglycerides, and I need to lower them, but everything else came out good.
Now let me warn you on one thing I have read. Metformin can cause anemia. So if you are on it, keep that checked. It did in me. I was having to take double the iron supplements to maintain a healthy hemoglobin count. Now that I am off the Met. it is normal as well. Of course this is something I will always keep an eye on, but looks like my endocronologist is about to lose me as a patient at least for a while lol.

Topic: RE: best WLS for PCOS
Well i went to my surgeon with all the same concerns..
and he basically said any weight loss will help with your PCOS. and no PCOS will never go away, but your symptoms will be decreased by leaps and bounds!
A new article was published in the medical journal about DS vs RNy for PCOS'ers. Originally they thought that DS was the best because of the switch and thats what caused your IR to go away. But the new study showed that the same results came with the RNY. SO long story short, he suggested the RNY because it forces you to change your eating habits and make it a life long journey, where you could be "lazier" with the DS since you dont get dumping syndrom.
So I am getting all my Pre-op tests done to go for the RNY!
Hope this helps!
