Have you tried the Target in Lewisville?  Not sure if that would be any cheaper, and just wanted to say wow, not many people from The Colony on here that I have found, so hi neighbor.
I have started a blog all of my own for this journey.  Please follow me at www.digitalsheep.org.

Topic: RE: Fertility /Metformin PCOS Questions.
I too have had PCOS for 20 years,  I was told that It would be very hard for me to get preg. and that losing weight would help.  After my father died I went to a diet place in town and lost 76 pounds and my OBGYN put me on CLomid and continued my metformin.  He did presterone test on the 22- 24 day of my cycle.  it would tell him if I ovulated.  After 15 years of trying to have a family I found out I was preg when I was three weeks along on New Years Eve.  (It was day 33 of my cycle).  I can be done, My doctor told me that I needed to be watched closely because of poss problems with my overies .  Do not give up, the children are worth the wait, even when they are having tamtrums.  We plan on trying to have one more, I will be 41 while preg and 42 by the time it gets here.  It is not in my hands we can only do so much.

They are right about the ovulation tests,I was told it was because our hormones are all messed up anyway.

Hope this helps, do not give up

I have had PCOS for 20 + years.  I was on Medformin for all of those years.  After 12 years on it I started to have stomach and bowel issues.  I started off at 500 and ended up with 1500.  I had the RYN  so I do not know if it is normal to have stalls and at what point for the VSG.   I think my first stall happened around the 6-8 week out.  I am goin through a big stall now, I am at my lowest weight since I got married 19 years ago.  I think you are doing well, keep it up and try not to stress about it.

Topic: PCOS after pregnancy?
Hello.... Im new to the forum but I have a very serious question that I cant seem to get answers to :( My daughter is 13 months old, shes my first and only. Before I had her I had problems with TOM's and I have had a cyst on my ovary but it was never bad enough to be considered PCOS. It seems unlikely that I might have had it, seeing as I got pregnant. Anyways, Suddenly over the past 2 months I have suddenly grown facial hair, broke out with severe acne and I have severe abdominal pain in my lower stomach. I can tell its the ovary area when I remember back to my prior expeirence with a cyst. I was wondering if it was possible to develop PCOS after pregnancy?

By the way, I had a mirena put in when I was 6 weeks post partum, so i no longer have periods. I havent had one since before I got pregnant.

Thanks for any adivce or thoughts :D

Topic: RE: best WLS for PCOS
for me i always wonder with PCOS and weight issues, is it the chicken or the egg theory
did u have PCOS and it caused the weight issues or
did your weight issues cause the PCOS??

also all the environmental factors, like phytoestrogens or PCB's that mimic estrogen etc..this PCOS issue is xtremely pronounced in industrial areas
so for me i was thinking that if i could do a DS that would be best cuz that would bypass my messed up signals but they don't usually do the DS in ontario
but then the VSG is great too bcuz of the portionof the stomach they remove contains alot of the hormone producing chemical signals that get sent to the brain

but i may just have a RNY, i guess any WLS is good for PCOS cuz it forces the body to re=think the signals and how to process the sugars and carbs

luckily my hair growth is pale and my skin is fair..so i pluck it or shave it but then end up with pimples..on top of the acne*lol*

going to go see a traditonal chinese doc soon..hopefully they can help

When i was first diagnosed I was started on 500mg of metformin 2 times a day and it seemed to help lower my insulin levels and then around x-mas they spike to 248, the normal ratio should be 20 so my Dr. called and uped my dose to 850 twice a day. Holy tallk about getting sick, my tummy constantly hurt and for almost a week i had sever diarrhea but after that my body adjusted again.
Along with the metformin I also take 100mg of spirtone and birth control. I am hoping that by having weight lost surgery it will help with the pcos and increase my chances of having a baby in the future.
Good Luck.

Kee.

Any weight loss surgery should help with the PCOS. It sucks enough being overweight and fighting the battle but then us girls get PCOS to top it off. I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago and thank god I was able to control it with the Metformin and Spirtone along with birth control.
I don't know if loosing weight will help with the facial hair but I am a firm believe that the spirtone does, as gross as it should I would have to dye my mustache like evrey week and since startign treatment I have done it maybe twice. Spirtone has become my best friend.
