No quilters out there?
Hi, Diana. I'm Ruth. I live in southern California and am an addicted quillter, and I teach quilting. I've been losing a lot of quilting time reading this web site over the last few months = ) I'm waiting for my surgeon's office to send in my request to the insurance company. I'm getting ready to move and had a terrible time finding an apartment with enough storage space for my fabric and a big enough second bedroom for my studio! I promised my friends I would hire movers this time because they definitely did not want to move my fabric. The last time I moved they kept saying "and we thought your books were bad to move!"
Lots of my quilting friends could use this surgery and I am sure that some of them will not be so supportive of what I'm doing so I won't be telling most of them. At least not until they ask how I'm losing all this weight.
Hi, Diana, I am a quilter! I just found this option on the site. You are right,we take a perfectly good piece of fabric, cut it up into little pieces, and sew it all back together in a different order!LOL I love it! I am 50sh, in southwestern Ohio, 18 months out from wls, down 120lbs,currently held sown with a fractured foot, hope to be active soon! I've been quilting about 20 years, active on a couple online quilting sites. write when you can. Cathy
Hey I am here, just found this site and love it. I thought I was the only one that has had WLS the quilts. LOL
I have only been quilting for about 5 years and I am not in the process of working on a aplique quilt my mom started before she died. It is so much fun and something I will treasure the rest of my life.
I have lost 102lbs since 1/31/02, I have slowed way down on weight loss, almost to a stop. I was wondering if anyone else has done this? I still have about 50lbs to go to get to where I want to be.
I don't know what I am doing wrong.... Maybe I can get some feed back on this from other quilters. I am active and all, doing more than I have been able to do in years. Sometimes tend to over do. I have a bad leg from cancer treatments of 28yrs. ago and then broke it in 96 and it swells alot but is better then it was before surgery. I still have to watch what I do with it and staying up on it alot bothers it some.
Let me know what you all are working on.
Maybe we could start a WLS patient RR. or something.
Thanks
Jackie
Hi Diana, my name is Janeen and I live in Northern California. I don't know that I would call myself a quilter, that sounds so official, but I do love to create and quilting seems to be suited for me. I just finished a dresdon plate quilt that I will be using as a bedspred. I really am pleased with it. I hope I am as pleased with WLS. I have just started the process, again. I began 2 years ago, but as fate would have it, it was not the right time for me. NOW is the right time, so I march on toward a successful outcome this time. Wish me luck.
I think the idea of a WLS quilt sounds wonderful. So which one of these quilters is going to orgranize it?
Hello Diana. I live in North Central Montana. I have been quilting for about 10 years. I have my consultation on November 19, 2003. I am nervous so my quilting keeps me busy. I would love if someone wanted to start a round robin or something. It would be wonderful to get with other quilters around our great nation. Good luck to everyone with before and after their surgeries. Trish
