New to this board

Hello, I just found this board. My name is Monna Walters. I live in Susanville, CA which is 85 miles northwest of Reno, NV. It is a very small town and we have lived here only 4 years, but we love it. I have been quilting for about 10 years, but seriously for about 2. I am awaiting my consultation visit with Dr. Cooper in Chico. I will not be cleared by my cardiologist until I have a thallium stress test. Hoping it all turns out well because I desperately need th surgery--sorry to get off topic of quilting. Anyway, I quilt about 5 hours a day. My daughter and I are in the process of opening a quilt shop here in town--tried of having to travel to buy fabric. Sometimes in the winter it is difficult to get out of town. All we have in town for fabric is Wal-Mart and the quality is not good. I love to do Celtic knots and design some knots. I enjoy traditional quilting, including hand quilting. About a year ago I discovered I also like applique. It has a wonderful rhythm to it.
