Topic: RE: Shop Hop
I've never heard of a Shop Hop before! What a great idea!!! Living in Cali, quilting is just not that popular. I met someone today who quilts (and she makes beautiful quilts). She does machine quilting. I have never quilted on a machine. I just take forever to hand quilt.
But I really wanted to say that I wish I lived where you live so that I could "Shop Hop."
Have fun

I did get to see some pictures of quilts made by Shirley and her daughters. We do tend to go with a lot more of the traditional patterns. Shirley and I bought some of the same fabric and we're not
going to let each other know what we are working on till we're both done.
It's gong to be interesting. She loved the prices of our fabric. She got some fabric here for $5 a yd and in Australia she paid $28 a meter for the same fabric. Needless to say she is buying fabric to mail back home. Her suitcase only holds so much. I'm so thankful that we had the personal one on one time with each other. Our husbands really hit if off.
They talked as much as we did. Shirley has some major health issues
and her husband does all her cutting for her. He is such a sweetheart.
Once she gets home and rested up
I'll ask her to send me some pictures of her quilts.
As you can tell I love all the different smilies.

Topic: Shop Hop
This weekend is our local Shop Hop. It's 10 shops and a heck of a lot of driving. My sister and I are going tonight. My goal is no more than 2 fat quarters at each shop. haa haa lots of luck! I think I want an "oriental" or batik theme. Other shops that are not participating, also have specials going on. I think we could go fabric
!

Hi Aria
I spend way too much time on the computer looking at or for new quilt designs. Do you have any photos of the quilts made by the Australian quilter? Do they do their quilting any differently? I will check out your website. Thanks

Hi Janet
I know all about making quilts for nieces, nephews, my children etc. then one day my husband asked me when was I going to make him a quilt? Prabably my biggest challenge (king size bed). Any way, it turned out great. I just finished a quilt that I quilted on my sewing machine. first time for me. I like to hand quilt. Keeps me busy and out of trouble. i love speed piecing too.
Write again. Love to hear from you

Topic: RE: Another Quilter
I have to agree that quilting is very therapeutic. I can loose track of time when I'm quilting. There have been times my hubby has said "Don't you think you should go to bed?". If my mind is on sewing then it's not on the pain I have. I've got Fibromyalgia and at times the pain can be unbearable. The only part of quilting/sewing I don't really care for is the cutting. I wish I could train someone to do the cutting. I would even pay them to do it for me. As it is right now I have several things already cut and ready to sew. I usually will take at least one whole day if not 2 to get several things cut and ready. Then I can sit down and really enjoy the sewing part. Also if I'm sewing I'm not eating. Which is a good thing.

I love to quilt! My problem is now I spend so much time on the computer looking at patterns and chatting with other quilters I'm not getting much sewing done.
I recently had a very special house guest. An Australian quilter and her husband are touring the USA and they came to Indiana and spent a night with us.
We had a fabulous time.
I hope to see them again before they leave for home.
They have about 5 more weeks of touring left. I have several online quilt groups. We have a lot of fun.
We are doing swaps and also online classes. You're more then welcomed to come and give us look any time.
Here is my website with the groups listed.
