I have been quilting for several years and find it very relaxing. I am very excited because I just had surgery on March 13, 2006 and I am looking forward to having time to quilt. I am looking for a great wall quilt to dedicate to the to people I work with for all of the support they have given me.

Topic: RE: I HAVE MY BLOCKS DONE...YEA!!!
My block is the Arrow Star that I got from a book of different Quilt Blocks. When I first decided on this block, I didn't know the reason why. Now, I look at it as an arrow pointing in the right direction for my husband and myself. My husband to continue to stay in remission and for me to get back on track. I have sooooo many projects I want to work on and soooo little time. I am sure you know that feeling. Between going to work and taking my husband to the doctor, it's a wonder I found time to do this. I do have an applique project I will start soon...I was supposed to have it done last year for a gift, but that was put on hold due to my husbands illness. I won't tell you the weather in GA....well, yes I will. It was 80 degrees yesterday with a nice breeze!!!! Sorry...don't slip on the ice Later, Crafty Angie

Feels good to get a project completed, then you can get to the next. What was your block? I did Card Trick as my wife and I like to play cards, with friends. What is your next project? Sorry to hear about your husband, wish him the best. Weather has made a turn for the cold in northern Iowa. Snow and sleet on and off. Well keep the needle going.... Bob.

I have my blocks done...finally. I will get them to Quiltin Wilson as soon as possible. I have a Saturday Sampler at a local quilt shop I participate in and am working on a row by row quilt at another quilt shop. While all of this is going on...I have to get receipts, etc. ready to have my taxes done. Something my husband and I are really dreading this year. If any of you read my profile, you have seen my posts about his Leukemia....he is in REMISSION..thank goodness, but it has been a rough nine months. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know I am done and will get them out soon. Take Care... Crafty Angie

Thanks for responding. I can't find the time to do it this month, but April looks like it might be a bit less busy...

That's actually a really good price for the classes. Around here, it's about $200 for the learning sessions. I would say go for it in a heartbeat!

Topic: What have you been doing??
What projects have you been doing? I finished the 12 blocks for the exchange a couple weeks ago and got them sent off to the organizer but now have been sitting doing nothing. My wife says I have to get the taxes done before I can start on anything else and who wants to do taxes... but have bought the fabric for a Mexican Star that looks interesting and a challenge. (My wife even helped pick the fabric out, I wanted to do it in a bright color with a black background but it's almost like the pattern cover.) Cut the fabric out for the background but none of the actual colors. Just finished the book 'The Cross Country Quilters' by Jennifer Chiaverini. Not to bad, kind of left somethings up in the air for future books. Would like to find and get her first books (cheap). What do others think of her books? Been on the Elm Creek Quilt website and seen the other books and pattern book. Has anyone made anything from that book? Think I will get this sent and go fix my oatmeal and fruit for breakfast and finish a cup of coffee.
