Topic: Long Arm Quilting Class
I was chatting with my local Sewing/Embroidery/Quilting Shop Owner and lo and behold, she offers an one-on-one class to learn how to Machine Quilt on a 14' Gammil Quilting Machine. I am a beginner, but she said I could learn to quilt myself. The class is $65.00, for a 5 hour sessions, and then after you complete it, you can "rent" the Gammill for $20.00 an hour to do your own quilting. What do you more experienced quilters think??? I am seriously considering taking the class, and then I can honstly say that I "made it all by myself"....

I have started my blocks also. I have all the pieces cut out. I am going with the Arrow Star block that is in my Quilter's Mix and Match blocks book. I had originally picked out another one and started a few and just didn't like it, but this one I am really happy with....too late to change again!!! Gotta go and work on them Angie

Topic: New To Quilting
Hi there! I am new to quilting, I started a beginning Quilting Class at our local Quilt Shop 4 weeks ago. We are making a block a week, using various techniques, and I have to admit that I am hooked!!! I even ventured on my own and started a Log Cabin Quilt using Eleanor Burns' Quilt in a Day Log Cabin Techniques. I can't wait to finish my first 2 projects, and then take the Advanced Beginner Class that she offers too.....

Topic: Western fabric online store
If any of you are into western fabrics www.onestopwesternshop.com has some really nice at great prices. They have blenders too, so if your not into western, there are some solids, and prints to go with other stuff. Nice to see a quilting board here too!

I did choose a pattern (finally) - Broken Dish - which I thought was appropriate in a way and altered somewhat by adding in the 2nd color. I'm raring to start. Mary

Just a quick note to say, I finished my blocks Sunday evening. Still had to get more background fabric. Fat quarter plus 12 inches don't make a half yard piece. Think I only needed two squares of 5.5 inches. My wife even said that they would look good made up as a quilt. Have enough scrape to make a couple welcomes. Bob. On to what project now . . . .

No story, just tell why you picked the block you picked. For instance, I chose the "Turkey Giblets" because I will be 1 year post-op in November and am really looking forward to my new body by Thanksgiving, 2006 That's it. Nothing much, just let us know what was your inspiration.

I finished on Friday night but have no clue about the story part. Is there a specific question list or general basic please include this info that we could use to write the story? Stacey finished her blocks last night and she too was wondering about the story part because she just started to consider WLS. Blessings, Jacq
